The part of the interview I found more interesting was when he a gave a shitload of excuses about why he cares so much about Syrian refugees but can't host a Syrian refugee family. You know, his multi-million dollar house is being renovated right now, there's nothing he can do.

I'm not over here hosting any refugees and I applaud him for being very vocal about raising money for the refugees and accepting the shit that comes with it. I just found it amusing.

I also find it amusing to visit the Sophie Hunter tag on tumblr from time to time and find out what felonies she's committed recently. While I know it must be a little scary for Mr and Mrs Cumberbatch to not really know how far some of these crazies might take it, the first indication of those people being crazy is that they are obsessed with a fugly, boring weirdo. (A fugly, boring weirdo who likely would not be on the cover of Vanity Fair right now if they hadn't helped turn him into a sensation.)

Yeah, Tumblr is going into meltdown mode. How dare he??? We're not obsessed! What an entitled a$$. He's not even the Internet's boyfriend anymore! etc....


His Syrian stance didn't make a lot of sense, but then again, I think actors should stay out of politics unless they truly practice what they preach. Can't have it both ways.

No matter what he says some people will interpret it negatively. That's just how it goes. Once people have cultivated an ideal about a person they hold onto it. I mean look at the Trump supporters! They are fucking nuts and much more scary. As for Benedict I'm an unabashed fan. Yes, I think he tends to have verbal diarrhea, comes off a little affected at times, and loves the sound of his voice too much, but compared to a lot of celebs he seems like a decent person. I think he means well but doesn't recognize when he's out of his depth. I guess he's like a lot of celebs...And ultimately that's why I believe a lot of fans turned... he's didn't live up to their idealized image. He's just a guy who happens to be an actor.

Just like with their dual Stephen Hawking portrayals, Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne are both supposed to be starring in upcoming Thomas Edison-George Westinghouse movies. (Oddly, the team behind The Imitation Game hired Redmayne for their version.) I would like both movies to come out, and then I would like Redmayne to win another Oscar, just for the lulz.

I noticed that Eddie's PR team always schedules stuff around any of Benedict's events. Hm... I always found Redmayne's PR game to be a bit more...shall we say "craftier" than Ben's. Nothing to back that up just a gut feeling. Something ain't on the up and up with him. That's one of the reasons I don't particularly like him. And no it's not because of the oscars. I actually wanted Michael Keaton to win that year.

Good for him. Obsessive, delusional stalkers is exactly what these people are. And they should be called exactly that. He's had problems with stalkers and creepers for years and IMO was always way too nice and diplomatic talking about them. The internet is a tool for evil in that sense, some people really think that perfect strangers "owe" them things and then throw temper tantrums when they don't live up to some fairytale they made up in their heads. And BC has got some really terrifying jerks obsessed with him, some of whom...well, you never know when they might cross the line into really dangerous territory. He's already had experiences with loons bothering him in real life.

THIS. Now they're whining that he's stupidly driving away all the 'fans' that 'made him'. They now hope that TMZ exposes Sophie for the weirdo she is, and the idiot he is. These folks are nuts!

They're also convinced that divorce is imminent.

I'm glad he's saying it too. The crazies surrounding him are just a little too intense, and they need a reality check. I hope that this does prompt some of them to drop him as their obsession and move on (and his career will be just fine. They may have convinced themselves that they are the ones keeping his career afloat, but they are just a small portion of the people who enjoy his work). I'm sure there will be a handful who will still be ranting about this years down the road, but hopefully it will only be about 5 of them sitting together in their social media echo chamber.

He hinted that season four of Sherlock may be the last, and I think that is a good thing. First, for me personally, the show really lost me in the third season. I didn't really enjoy it and I don't think I've gone back and rewatched it at all (like I did when seasons one and two showed up on Netflix). I only half-watched that Christmas special thing. Second, Sherlock seems to be what brought him to the attention of a lot of the crazies, and this will give them one less thing to fixate on.

The "skeptics" are mocking him because when he talked about the more obsessive fans and pointed out that their obsession is mainly stating what the "believe" (emphasis theirs) over the Internet (as opposed to "real life", but isn't it the same thing?? I'm so confused by their logic), that's NOT the same thing-- hence he's a moron, and a hypocrite.... because you know, he 'posed' with his wife and son a couple of times when they went about living their lives, as families do. They also believe that Sophie has the paps on speed dial and only comes alive and looks like she's interested in him when she's being photographed.... because she really tries to shove herself down everyone's throat. <snort>


I just can't with scary fandoms...... I think they'd be devastated to learn they make up only a very small percentage of his overall fanbase, and the the overwhelming majority of us think they're nuts.
