Saw a matinee of it. It was entertaining but could have been a lot better. Either too much editing or not enough script. I kept on thinking that I had missed something. Ruffalo is very attractive.

It was an entertaining way to spend the afternoon, despite the masses of implausibilities and plot holes, but the ending fell completely flat for me so it was ultimately unsatisfying. I didn't sense a whole lot of chemistry between some of the characters and felt the romance element could have been left out completely. The scene where Ruffalo and his French partner were having a moment in the street I thought, "oh, great, here comes the kiss." not because I felt their whole relationship was leading up to it, but because it felt like this kind of film's formula expects it whether or not it made sense or if the characters had some kind of spark between them.

We rented this last night and while it was entertaining, it was also completely ridiculous. Great cast, though. I think I like Dave Franco more than his brother (he was hilarious on Scrubs).

Ouch, what a mess. It desperately wanted to be a breezy crime caper like Ocean's 11, but it was shot with such a sci-fi/fantasy look and over-the-top effects that it rang about as true as Godzilla. The magicians behaved as though they met 10 minutes before, when the whole plot hinged on the idea that they were a well-oiled crime machine, the Beatles of Magic.
As for the ending, imagine watching a movie where a kid finds a golden ticket in a Willy Wonka chocolate bar ... and the next scene is the credits.
