I was pleasantly surprised by this as well. For me, it didn't hold a candle to the Branagh version, but I thought it was fun and well acted. And yeah - Joss's house is pretty fab. I also thought Hero was a complete zero, but Whedon clearly has a thing for weak actresses with long dark hair. See the aforementioned Eliza Dushku, as well as Cobie Smulders, who he insisted on putting in the Avengers, to the detriment of every scene she's in. It's becoming such a common tic that I'd be curious to know what his mother looked like.
As a side note, the couple playing the piano and singing at the end are his brother and sister in law, Jed and Maurissa, who are also working with him on SHIELD.
