Kinda makes me wonder how Prince Philip is doing, health-wise...

Kinda makes me wonder how Prince Philip is doing, health-wise... I had the exact same thought, unfortunately.

The Queen and Prince Phillip are at Balmoral. Kate & William just returned from NYC. Harry was at an event for Sentable. C&C, Edward and Sophie, the Yorks, the Glouchesters and some lesser royals were all available. Her status didn't seem to matter to the Empress of Japan, so I'm not sure if that one holds up. It's a curiosity to be sure.
She was beloved. The family's grief just reminds you these are ordinary people with titles.

Not that my opinion means shit to the Windsors, but I thought it was very poor form not to have one single member of the BRF present at the funeral. I understand the Queen and the DOE not attending; as well as the Cambridges, but at the very least, the Wessexes should have been dispatched, or even the Gloucesters. Or even Prince Michael, for God's sake, he'll go to the royal equivalent of the opening of an envelope. What the heck else are the British people paying them to do if not to represent the UK?

When I heard a bit about a monarch named Albert embroiled in a paternity scandal, I assumed it was Albert of Monaco. Nope, Albert II of Belgium! Ex-King, anyway. Apparently, if he doesn't submit to a DNA test, he will be fined 5000 euro for every day he dithers. ETA: I might be misremembering, but was it the Belgian royals where the king and queen stated they didn't really want to be buried together or in adjacent plots? I might be mashing a few things together.

I think you're thinking of the Danish royals. The Queen's husband was pissed that he wasn't made King consort. I think he died last year.

Yes, you’re right. Rereading that pettiness made me cackle.

That's surprising. I've never seen an illegitimate child listed as a prince or princess before. None of Albert of Monaco's out of wedlock kids have a title, IRRC.
