Watched it, and really liked it! I will say I *love* it when I see all the character interact more. These people have some great chemistry and I hope they take advantage of it this season. So freaking glad Katrina is gone.
How, exactly, does Ichabod support himself? If he was gallivanting around Europe for months, who paid for that?
And yes, I do see the ridiculousness in the fact that I take the witness storyline, demons, headless horseman, etc. at face value but I must nitpick how Ichabod pays his rent :-)

I'm wondering if maybe Abby gave him some money while he was getting himself together. I don't know about rent, because it sounds like he was just wandering through the UK. Once he came back, he was in ICE custody. But now? He's probably still shacking up at the cabin, no?
Beyond that, Abby has always helped him. Maybe the FBI or state bureau will employ him as a consultant?

2nd episode...the show is back to its s1 level of goodness. I'm really enjoying it, though its ratings are suffering against Scandal, the Blacklist & Thursday night football.
Shannen Sossamen is really bringing it as Pandora. In 2 episodes, she's been more menacing than Katrina was in 2 full seasons.
Lance Gross' Daniel is okay. I'm trying to divorce him from his goofy character on Meet the Browns.
Nikki Reed can't act to save her life. She plays coy and anger and flirtatious with the same, bland inflection. I see no chemistry between her & Ichabod.
I liked Joe Corbin when he was introduced last season and I'm pleased he's back. Not only because he & Jenny are going to be working together on their own case this season, but because I liked the chemistry he brought to the cast. He was a far better addition than Mr. Clairol, Hawley.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying the season so far and the direction it's going in. Except for Betsy Ross. She's so jarringly bad and out of place. Part of it is how they write her: why is she always half undressed? But mainly it's the actress, who sounds way too modern and amateur.

Yes, this is a definite improvement over Season 2 which quickly became unwatchable. I'm sad not to have Orlando Jones in the mix, but really while Sleepy Hollow is better off with Orlando Jones- Orlando Jones is better off WITHOUT Sleepy Hollow. They really slaughtered their golden goose with how they handled his character. Still, Irving is not dead- just 'hiding' so there could be a guest spot in the future.
Glad Katrina, Henry and Headless are gone. I'll miss Headless's Horse though. But the slate needed to be wiped clean, and I think they did it in a way that wasn't too hokey. Not that I wouldn't have minded Abbie waking up to find Corbin in the shower alive and well, just 'cause that would be its own kind of awesome. But I think the way they shook things up made sense. Turns out that the Witnesses will have multiple tribulations to go through. Moloch and the 4 Horsemen were just one, now they have something new to face. I can buy that. And Pandora with a box full of evil means we're back to a new oogie each week. So YAY! Plus, she seems a more sustainable baddie who doesn't whine and cry (Henry!) when her oogie gets defeated. She just needs whatever damage it manages to wreak on the world to feed her plant. So she's in it for the long term and that makes her a formidable foe. Good for her!
Betsy Ross is the silliest retcon we've seen so far. But at least she's no Katrina! I fear that she'll turn up frozen somewhere, but I hope instead they give her some heroic death and are done with her before the season's out.
I'm glad to have Corbin's son back. He keeps the show connected to its roots which was Corbin's legacy of secrets and the training he gave the Mills sisters. Plus, the history they share in being connected to Corbin makes more sense than Hawley's adventures with Jenny which we kept hearing about but never saw- which made his whole backstory about as unbearable as Katrina's 'magic' which never worked. If Joe says 'Remember when Dad did blah blah whatever...' It'll carry more weight because it's connected directly to the town of Sleepy Hollow and what Corbin did there. So I'm happy to have him as Jenny's companion. As for Jenny's newly introduced nemesis. Oh dear, we have another time traveler on our hands. This guy's come to us all the way from the... 1970's...
What does he want with Jenny's shiny pocket rock? Who knows, but hopefully it will have something to do with Pandora. Otherwise, they might as well give Jenny and Joe their own spin off series right now as they'll never cross paths with Ichy and Abbie again.
New Detective guy? Is he the new Irving? Is he a secret baddie? Is he messing up the Crabbie? Hey, at least he outlived C. Thomas Howell. Good, baddie, Crabbie blocking? Let's see what he'll bring to the table!
And P.S. 'Don't fire til you see the white's of it's eyes'! BWAH HA HA HA! Oh Show, once again, you made me love you! (I didn't wanna do it... After Season 2 just blew it!) ;-)

Pardon my double post, but this last episode was an almost embarrassing rip off of an old Supernatural episode. Right down to the chat about how big brothers (sisters) in this case should watch out for little brothers/sisters and using a kid as bait for the monster.
That said, the Sleepy Hollow monster was WAY cooler and creepier, and the Mills Sisters don't seem to dwell on their childhood angst as deeply as the Winchester Brothers do- so no real worries there.
Crane is chomping up a lot more scenery lately. I'm not sure about this acting choice of Mr. Mison's or if it's the directors insisting on this from him. But it's a bit much at this point in the Show. It was funny in the early season, because he was oh so indignant about everything modern. But now he goes on these overly enunciated rants while playing video games and texting his sweetie (Who is NOT Abbie at the moment, damn it!)
All that said, I'm still enjoying this season SOOOO much more than the last one. Still miss Irving- well Season One Irving at least. Season Two Irving was practically non existent and was getting dicked over every time he was on screen. But Season One Irving is definitely missed. I don't mind Joe as an ongoing character, but its awkward when they stick him in when he has nothing to do. Same goes for Capt. Reynolds. They can take a day off, ya know. Neither one of them has to be there all the time. Unless they actually have something to do, of course.
I'm really not fond of Retcon-Betsy Ross. I thought she'd be cool, but she's already gotten tiresome. Even though I'm partly glad they aren't even mentioning Katrina anymore. But I liked it better when Crane interacted with different historical figures at different times. Now it's all Betsy all the time. Yawn!
On the flip side, really like Pandora as the baddie. She's sufficiently creepy and way more competent and focused on her evilness than even Moloch was. And I actually want to see her in her element. Switch up the flashbacks from Colonial to ancient Sumerian times? Let's do it!!

That was one creepy tooth fairy creature, this episode really had a season 1 feel about it and Betsy is becoming the new Katrina so she needs to go.

I feel like Crane's rants or exuberance in his manner of speaking (like when he talked to the museum that had Paul Revere's dentistry bag) at this point are hilarious because HE knows they're over the top, too.
I think he's picked up a sense that with the passing of centuries and he being in this time a couple years now, people that have heirs about them (like history buffs from a museum) will feel honored by his speech and help and intelligent, historic and kind people (like his new gal pal) find it endearing and swoon-worthy. But that's mostly for the ladies that get to be in his presence.
I like the lady friend that's helping him get citizenship, save the archives and also acting as a potential love interest. She seems genuinely sweet and charmed by his, well, charms and knowledge of this country's beginnings. Plus, it's cute to see Crane blushing over their potential hooking up. And yes, it's not Abby; but I'm okay with that because they really have a sweet and loyal friendship which almost is as if they're family. Mushy feelings just f*%ks things up.
I'm still enjoying this season regardless of the rehash, already-been-done-on-TV-before story lines. They make it their own and it has an interesting balance and link to the past and present with Pandora and her box of evils. Plus, knowing that she's not the original Pandora but still from a past linked to biblical times and them as witnesses, it's a great turnaround from last season.
Keeping the monster-of-the-week shtick (like the producers/writers did when they ran "Fringe") is a good idea and keeps the witnesses together and the audience's attention. I just want Crane to be happy and find some joy that doesn't have strings attached, just don't suck the poor girl into the nasty supernatural world.
Edited: I think I'm either rambling, tired or both. But my point is in there somewhere, I think.

But I liked it better when Crane interacted with different historical figures at different times. Now it's all Betsy all the time. Yawn! It's always fun, and his distaste for certain individuals always makes me giggle.

He always had an issue with Revere, didn't he? Now we know why!
Damn, dentists. HA! However, we now know what truly loosens Crane up...laughing gas.
