Fark. I saw your thread and opened it hoping it would not say "dead".
He was a good actor. Too bad Hollywood lets older talent rot on the shelf.
I remember a movie he did where a truck was following him through a desert , trying to kill him. I was a kid and from that day on truckers and deserts were not two things I wanted to se together at the same time.
Peace out Dennis.

Was that Duel? I think I remember seeing it on the ABC Tuesday Movie of the Week!
I always loved McCloud best of the NBC Sunday Night Mystery series—even more than Columbo and MacMillan and Wife.
I also recall him being featured on a show about unique homes—I think he had a place that was made of recycled tires, though, I could absolutely be misremembering that.
ETA: Yup, it was recycled tires. Duh! Maybe I should have read the entire CNN article.

Awwwww. He was one of the first celebrities who actually put his fame and money to work for others in fighting hunger here in the US with his anti-hunger program LIFE - Love Is Feeding Everyone.
I'll always remember him as Chester Goode from Gunsmoke.

Is it inappropriate to tell Dennis Weaver jokes now?
Well, no matter...here is mine:
What did Mick Jagger say when he saw Dennis Weaver and Hugh Hefner together in bed?
"Hey Hugh...get offa McCloud!"

I remember he was quite a high profile vegan, back when it wasn't the trendy thing to be. He made it to 81, so I guess it worked for him.

Another class act is gone.
I can close my eyes and see Dennis, on a horse, riding off into a beautiful New Mexico sunset. Adios Dennis.
