Not bad. Though I think it would have been better with January Jones as Corrine.
Petals in the Wind is in the works, also from Lifetime.

Meh. I was underwhelmed by the whole thing. The ending felt anti-climactic even with the promise of a sequel. I think I actually prefer the first movie, despite the fact that it left out the incest. It was so much more campy and that seemed to fit the book better.

True. VC Andrews does require a certain amount of campiness to really make it work.
I give Lifetime 6/10.

The anticipation was more delicious than the film, but I give a 10/10 on set design.

Coming up next: The West Coast viewing along with the After SAG Awards Viewing. Stay tuned...
(and so glad they're making the sequel. PITA was even MORE filthy/naughty/horrific/titillating/campy/insane, I thought.

I'm so excited about the sequel. I mean, FITA is crazy but it's really just set-up for the batshit wonderfulness of PITW.

Heather Graham really is a bad actress, which could work with this material, but she's not even doing this justice.
Ellen Burstyn, on the other hand...

I wish the movie were at least an hour longer and way more tawdry and sinister. I feel like it just scratched the surface. It didn't seem like they were up there in that room for very long - unlike in the book, where they asked their mother a zillion times when they were getting out.
Ellen Burstyn threw it down though.

Yeah - it felt like they could have delved much deeper into the crazy/horror. I'm hoping that PITW just goes balls to the wall with the crazy. It was far crazier and soapier than FITA, so they really need to deliver.
