I know why actors sign up for these deals with big fashion houses ($$$) but also why do they sign up for these deals with big fashion houses? I would absolutely hate being constricted to wearing one label, and have even more limited choices because they want you to wear something from their latest line, even if it's shite.

Chanel under Lagerfeld is the one label my imaginary movie star persona would be happy wearing all the time. I think they have done well by Keira Knightley for all these years. But now, no.
Jennifer Lawrence's Dior contract seems a little sketchy in terms of what she has to wear sometimes, but has anybody seen what she looks like in her private time? She's an utter fashion disaster. Anything Dior is putting her in is better than what she'd be wearing if left to her own devices, even with a stylist.

I admit, I am a bit if a sucker for tartans made with decent colors. I am a sucker for blue and green tartans. Her dress looks like a bed skirt.
On a small aside, her dress is not plaid. A plaid is the long fabric folded and wrapped to form a kilt. Tartan is the print on the fabric. Scottish clans have their own tartans which are on their plaids. My clan tartan is pretty ugly.

Sorry. I didn't know what to call the pattern and 'plaid' was the only word my brain would accept.

We watched "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" this weekend. I thought she was charming in the scene where Sharon Tate watches her own movie and reacts to the audience's reactions. Otherwise it was kind of a thankless role.

Margot at the BAFTAs in Chanel. This dress is fine but not amazing, however it's a massive improvement over her last few red carpet looks.

I love Margot so I hope she kills it at the Oscars as I didn't like her dress at the BAFTAs.

I am shocked that the Birds of Prey film is tracking to open below Shazam. If it does, it will indeed be the lowest opening weekend for any film based on a major DC comics comic book character in this post-Iron Man rennaissance for comic book movies. And this despite getting solid reviews across the board, including raves for Margot's take on Harley Quinn and Cathy Yan's direction. Warner Bros. has done a crappy job promoting this film, but I still assumed that the popularity of the character (Harley Quinn) would lead to a much bigger opening than the projected 45-50 million dollar-opening. There is still the chance that despite a not-gigantic opening, the film gets word of mouth so good that it gives the films a healthy life at the box office, but my concern is that if the film flops, the studios will use that as an excuse to justify their not making other potential superhero movies starring women. Granted, Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel were both huge hits, and Black Widow and Wonder Woman 2 are expected to become two of 2020's biggest moneymakers, but I still want for every female-centric superhero movie (especially when, like Birds of Prey, they are directed by a woman and written by a woman] to succeed so they continue making them.

My sister went to see the movie and loved it. She said it was very well done. So, it's sad that it's tracking so low.

I read a review that had (I think) a good point; rating the movie R eliminated a large potential fan base: younger teenage girls. This movie seems prime for that crowd (and according to this review the tracking was highest amongst younger girls). Why they decided to go that route, I don't know.
The movie looks like a turd to me: BUT- I can definitely see how it could be really fun.
