The 18-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex has been earning £6.63 per hour this summer since finishing her A-levels in June, working several days a week - despite living in a £30million mansion in Bagshot Park, Surrey.

Lady Louise is said to have been helping out on the tills, greeting customers, pruning and potting plants at the garden centre.

One shopper said: 'I knew the cost-of-living crisis was bad, but I didn't think I'd ever see a grandchild of the Queen working in a garden centre,' she told The Sun.

Another who was served by the royal said: 'I couldn't believe it was Lady Louise, I had to look twice.

'She is a really modest and sweet young woman who is polite and attentive to customers. She seemed to be loving the job.

'You'd never imagine the Queen's grand-daughter would take on a role working behind a till.'

Another customer added: 'The staff seemed to adore her. It's not every day you buy your begonias off a royal.'

Everyone should work retail or food service in their youth - it's hard work, and with any luck, it might reduce the number of people who treat retail and food service employees like crap.

I remember when Edward was kind of a snot as a young man but it looks like he grew up. He and Sophie know their children will be private citizens and it is good that they will be preparing for that life.

She's heading to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and will focus on addressing the devastating impact of sexual and gender-based violence in conflict. She is the first Member of the Royal Family to travel to the DRC. This is one of Sophie's longtime issues.

Facebook had a video today showing pics of Edward as a young man. I was really surprised that he was actually very handsome. Currently I would say that Charles has the most striking face albeit in a ugly-jolie way whilst Edward is non-descript (though does strike me as a decent chap too). But he was objectively good looking when younger.
