See, I notice the differences occasionally -- and it is more pronounced when you have a British character amid an American cast -- but it was the way so many people seemed truly bothered that no one in the show commented on the pronunciation that really made me twitchy. Talk about it on the board, but don't get upset because the writers didn't call attention to it. They almost seemed rude in their need to point out that someone says something differently than they do. Yes. People have accents! There is no need for the writers to comment on it! Holmes' Britishness has never been the focus. I think it was the sheer volume of people commenting on it that got to me.

I posted a response to that nonsense; I just said that in NYC, where SO many people have accents, no one really gives a shit.

Yeah, if you commented on the accent of every person you heard in NYC, you'd never get anything done. I used to live in Queens, where my landlord was Chinese, my hairdresser was Greek, my deli guy was Russian, the Dollar Store family was Middle Eastern, and the Dunkin Donuts guys were Indian. And that was just within one block of my apartment. And then there were the actual New York accents that were just as unusual to my Southern ears.

I am both ashamed of my tv watching habits and about to flip my shit at some of the posters in a certain thread on Previously. The show is in its third season on TLC and is about super morbidly obese people who are pursuing weight loss surgery. That's the show. No surprises. Not 'considering' bariatric surgery, actively pursuing it and meeting with a specific surgeon. Every single Xenu-licking week, several people post, "I don't know why they couldn't lose 400 lbs by diet and exercise." Every week, people post various reasons pointing to the efficacy of WLS for some people. And more importantly, the entire premise of the show is pursuing WLS for someone whose life is not supergreat because they weigh, say, 599 lbs. Every episode. For three seasons. It's like watching Rehab Addict and wondering why Nicole Curtis doesn't buy new in a suburban development, or why the Duggars didn't stop at three, or why Richard from Fast and Loud needs a new muscle car, or why Pa Ingalls couldn't stay in Wisconsin. THAT IS THE WHOLE SHOW.
And yeah, I don't know why I watch it, either.

I've been lurking on PreviouslyTV and it seems they hired the old TWoP mods. A lot of warnings by the mods, especially in the Arrow boards. But I do get why, the Laurel/KC haters are THE WOOORST and this is coming from a Felicity/Olicity/EBR fan.

I recognize a lot of the TWOP names at Previously, but in the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt threads there is so much abominable spelling that I really wonder how TWOPish it really is. One person repeatedly uses "Tiddass" instead of Titus.

As long as TWoPHoward doesn't show its ugly face...

The Supernatural bbs are full of the same jerks from TWOP with the same repetitive posts about how much Sam/Jared sucks. Ugh!
