Does anyone remember when his network TV specials were the shiznitz-- probably 15-20 years ago? I remember this one special that was advertised like it was going to be a magic show that would bring about a religious experience, because he was going to fly!!!11!! OMG! Even at the time as a very young child, I remember thinking "Soooo what?" The special was taped in a studio, I don't remember there being an audience, and he was flying around like Sandy Freakin' Duncan in Peter Pan.

Oh, I remember that. I was like "Hey, Dave - they figured out how to "erase" the wires in tv and movies a loooong time ago, dude."

I know that all this stuff is an illusion, but I usually love it because I (often) can't figure out how they did it. For example - I love Criss Angel's show on A&E. I know that when he makes people levitate that it is all a trick and the people he pulls from the audience are plants, but I can't figure out how he does it for the life of me. The same can be said in some instances with Copperfield, but he's so freakin' cheesy that it kinda ruins it for me.

Does anyone know how other magicians/illusionists feel about him? Like I know a lot of them don't like David Blaine, and I was just wondering if they also thought Copperfield was a big hunk of gouda.
