I could have sworn we had a thread for this franchise! But I searched all the way to the end and couldn't find one. But anyway. It's Back to the Future Day!!! Oct. 21, 2015- the day Marty McFly traveled to and was faced with flying cars, HoverBoards, automatically lacing sneakers and endless Jaws Sequels. Little did they know the scariest thing about this future date would be Donald Trump running for President. At least Biff/Griff is a less hands on bully (Mildly NSFW due to language)

And if they crawl out of their 0-3 hole, the Cubs might have a chance to win the World Series!

Movies one and two are playing at the theatre in my city tonight and I am really considering going.

All three are playing at the Drive-In where I live. I'd love to go, but I don't think I'll have time. Too bad Oct. 21, 2015 didn't land on a weekend!
Although, now I'm trying to just play the movies in my head... and I remember Flea firing Marty over the big screen TV... and making it official with a FAX. Hee! So cute they thought FAX would still be that relevant.

So cute they thought FAX would still be that relevant. Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox joke about that in the preview to the Toyota commercial they made (and in the actual commercial, at the bottom of that page). I still think it is so weird that they basically shot the entire movie with Eric Stoltz then decided to recast. I mean, I think they made the right decision, but that must have been weird on the set.

Is there a reason why October 21, 2015 was the specific date chosen for the movie? It seems that making the future date fall on a Friday or Saturday night would have been a smart and VERY forward-thinking market move.

And now, everything that happened in Back to the Future 2, will be in the past!

So cute they thought FAX would still be that relevant. I'm a little BTTF fanatic, so I have to make a slight correction. Flea (a.k.a. "Needles") conned Marty into some scheme that Marty's boss, Fujitsu was monitoring. His boss thus coined the phrase, "READ MY FAX!" - a la "You're Fired!!!". Maybe email would be the late 80s answer to the fax? Hard to predict that too much since there wasn't even a glimmer of internet in 1987/88 when they were writing the film.

Oh! That's right! I haven't seen these films in a while and I just remembered Flea's face filling the screen right before Marty got his FAX. But now I can picture the other guy breaking in and shouting READ MY FAX! LOL!
It's still funny they didn't foresee FAX going by the wayside by 2015 though.

This is one of my top 25 favorite films ever! So many great things about the movie. I also love a young Billy Zane as one of Biff's cronies.
I think Eric Stoltz could have been good as Marty. I'm curious as to why they didn't like him. That being said, MJF OWNS this part.
