Ah, if that Popbitch story is true, I love her! I love her! I love her! ETA: Yes, that's what I love about her. Even Muriel wasn't the greatest person, but she just dives right in and doesn't mind playing someone who is less-than-attractive or kind of pathetic. Yes, of course! In case I wasn't clear, I think that lack of vanity is totally praiseworthy and rare. It's part of why she's such a good actress. I think the writer, director, & editor of About a Boy were unnecessarily sadistic with that character, but it's not a slam against her performance. She really went for it.

Hehehe. I also hope that story is true. She is fabulous. I'm actually looking forward to seeing In Her Shoes. I really liked the book - the author, Jennifer Weiner, is one of the best chicklit authors around. The book focuses pretty evenly on both sisters, so, hopefully Toni will get equal screen time as Cameron. Unfortunately, I can easily see this movie being a big cheesefest; it is the writing, not the story, that makes it a cute book. Depending on the talent of the screenwriter, this movie could easily be unbelievably corny and cliched.

Even though I don't mind Coldplay, that story is ten kinds of awesome. I hate it when I buy a CD and realize that it sucks while listening to it on the way home. I wish I had the moxy to just flag down another driver and ask them if they want it.

I really like her. She's made everything I've seen her in that little bit more enjoyable. The fact that she does seem perfectly willing to play the less-than-perfect female role makes her that much more interesting.

I really like her too. I loved Muriel's Wedding and About a Boy and I don't think most other actresses would not have been brave enough to do what she did with those roles. I hope she gets more recognition because she really derves it. I can't stand Cameron Diaz, but I kind of want to see In Her Shoes for Collete and Shirley MaClaine.
The screenwriter wrote Erin Brokovich, and Curtis Hansing is directing (LA Confidential, 8 Mile, Wonder Boys), so it looks quite promising. But the presence of Diaz still makes me hesitant.
Has anyone seen Japanese Story? I've been thinking of renting it just because she's in it but have no idea if its a good film or not.

I'm so fascinated by her relationship with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. And totally jealous that she got to sleep with him, of course.

Embarrassingly real, because I know people just like her. She was amazing in that role.

God, I hope the Coldplay story is true, that's all kinds of awesome.
I really like Toni and her work in most of her movies. She's always like a real person and that's rare these days. But I can't figure out why she got nominated for an Oscar for The Sixth Sense. I actually think that was the weakest I've ever seen her. She does deserve every award in this world but I'm glad she didn't really win for that film.
And I really want to see In Her Shoes. I don't mind Diaz plus I've read quite positive reviews so far so I think I might be enjoying this. Of course, with Toni there, it should be fine.
