I finally got around to watching it. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. I was bored through the music and dancing parts and didn't think any of the songs were catchy or memorable. In the end I had a hard time understanding how this film was Oscar worthy. By the end of it, I was so damn sick of that one instrumental song that seemed to play over every other scene, I had to jump for the remote to get it off.

We watched it last night and overall liked it. Emma and Ryan are not strong dancers or singers, but they have great chemistry and sold the dramatic scenes. I wish when Hollywood wants to do a musical, they will be brave and hire people who have proper acting, singing and dancing skills, even if they are not big box office names. Crappy singing ruined Les MIs (Russell Crowe) and Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) for me. Emma and Ryan weren't that bad, but I wonder if this film would've been better with better performers.
