I couldn't find a thread for this show, so here goes! I just binged the first season of "Good Girls" on Netflix, and I'm officially hooked. It tells the story of 3 women in financial distress who decide to embark on a life of crime. I found the pilot a bit underwhelming, but I thought it had potential so I kept watching. I'm so glad I stuck with it since it definitely gets stronger with each passing episode. The three main actors - Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman - are all extremely charming, and have wonderful chemistry with each other. They really do feel like best friends, just bantering and hanging out. The second season started on March 3rd on NBC, and I'm really hoping it finds more of an audience. I find this show to be a delightfully soapy, sexy gem.
Also...Manny Montana. Enough said.

I like it, too. My dvr lists it as a comedy, but I find it more dramatic than comedic, even though the situations are amusing.
I spend a lot of time worrying and wondering “how are they going to get out of that?! “

I know! It strikes a really nice blend of humor and darkness for me. I've watched and loved my share of super gritty shows, but with the current state of the world, I've been finding myself appreciating a lighter touch. I think this article sums up the appeal of the show well: shuffleonline.net/2018/05/06/good-girls-season-1-recap/And I completely second what the author says about the Beth/Rio chemistry. Those two actors sizzle onscreen like none in my recent memory. It's something to behold.

I'm really looking forward to tonight's episode. Based on the promo, it looks like there will be some crazy stuff going down - including death and mayhem. I wish this show had a better time slot than Sunday night at 10, but I'm hoping people tune in and give it a chance to hook them in!

When I had seen the first season promo for this show I decided it wasn't for me, but this thread made me give it a try and I'm glad I did. Love it!

I tried it when it first premiered and was pretty meh about it, even though I love Retta. I think maybe giving it another shot on Netflix might be in order. I can't stand watching shows with commercials anymore.

Every time they are doing some last-minute poorly planned crime, all I can think is "Wear gloves!!! Cover your faces!!!"
They're driving all over town, skulking around and touching evidence with their bare hands!

I certainly agree that they could tighten up the writing on some of the "crime caper" aspects of the show. I get the sense that the writers care much more about the character interactions than the details of their criminal life. But since crime is taking center stage for these characters more and more, they're going to have to stop being such sloppy amateurs. I just really love the cast and characters, so I enjoy hanging out with them regardless!

We just started watching season one on Netflix and when we finished, I was so happy to see that season two has begun. I love the interactions and the great blend of darkness and humor.
