I put this in the Catherine thread bc the first paragraph is about her, and also, it's questionable to me why the Royal Family is elevating Rose when there were very public rumors about her and William just a month ago.

It's not like Richard Eden is critical of the crown or the elevation of Hanbury. I, however, think it's in really bad taste when Catherine is home battling cancer and unable to make public appearances.

Because they are all well known to each other and her husband is a Lord in Waiting to the King? So they are invited to many royal events and always have been?

Her appearances are noticed *because* of the rumours, she's been to all these events before but just not reported because they are often related to her father Tim Hanbury or her husband etc. I don't think the BRF are deliberately elevating her, they're just not icing her out because of gossip. If her husband attended events without her that would also be seen as fodder for the rumour mill.

I would say it's bad taste for Richard Eden (who is one of the ones who often has a tantrum about why William and Charles need Harry) to post this as if it's a new thing. Typical Saturday Royal Fanfic from the DM. It used to be "what if Diana were alive right now" stories.

Maybe she's accepted by the royal family because there is no truth to the rumors? And maybe her response to the gossip (which is to ignore it) gives the royals reason to think she can be discrete and trusted?

I don't know if she had an affair with William or not, but I am inclined to think not.

Princess Catherine may not appear in public for rest of year.

The wording in the title is awkward, but her planning on being out of the public eye until the end of the year must mean she's pretty ill. I'm really sorry to hear this, and I truly hope she can beat this thing.

A huge part of Kate’s look is her hair and if she has had some hair loss it must be very difficult. If she shows up with short hair, there will be speculation about what kind of cancer she had , if she shows up with long hair, people will speculate as well. She just can’t win.

There are conspiracy theorists on Twitter who still think William beats her, and she's dead, or close to it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am still hopeful this is all precautionary.

Being on chemo often means you have to stay quite isolated, for your immune system. I also do think her hair could be a part of it. People will talk no matter what, but your hair can be a huge part of your identity. In cases like this it's not about vanity. It's about esteem, comfort, feeling safe and secure. Hair can help with a lot of that. I can't imagine going through something like this so publicly.
