Sorry, I can’t post the link. But Catherine just signed a tweet and appeared in a photo from Windsor Castle. They arranged for a young woman, who has cancer, to take the photos at the investitures today. Her photos were great. And Catherine looks really good. Here's the BBC article, Tigger. Poor kid. Life is so unfair.

It's very touching--the young photographer has desmoplastic small round cell tumor(s?), which is very rare and apparently not something one recovers from. eta: Jinx!

Great minds think alike!

On a completely shallow note, what a beautiful, serene-looking young woman. I’m glad she has been able to nurture and be recognized for her talent and to make memories for herself and her loved ones.
Because the BRF and other royal families have always been so tight-lipped about their health problems, I wonder how many royal figures before Kate and Charles have found themself in the position of becoming much more relatable because of a health challenge. Diana’s eating disorder is the only one that comes to mind. Does Mette-Marit talk about her lung disorder much?

The Yorks were also open about Beatrice's dyslexia diagnosis. The then Wessex's were open about Lady Louise's esotropia but that didn't stop some idiots making fun of her when she (very rarely) appeared in public. It is a personal choice whether to disclose a health condition to the public. More people "need to know" if the King is ill versus the POW. Not that anyone recently on this thread as said it, but just a reminder that Catherine said she was having surgery and would not be doing public duties until Easter. She announced before Easter that she had cancer but in the mean time even generally "sensible" people and journalists had some how become convinced that she was "dead or fled" even though they never deviated from the timeline of public news. I sincerely hope it has spurred people on to get checked out for possible early signs but some many in the media refuse to take responsibility for the insanity that "I have a health issue so wont be seen for 4 months" caused.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is open about developing anorexia, and also about having prosopagnosia(face blindness).

Catherine looks really good. I hope she’s doing well. It was a good idea how they managed this appearance. No prior notice, probably partly to keep the media attention lower.
