It does make me sad when you see Taylor listening with her BFF Blake Lively to America the Beautiful that the camera cuts to them and the audience boos. So ridiculous. There are endless celebs that attend sporting events and the big ones like the Super Bowl and it's totally fine. *shrug* Gotta love when politics comes into play against single women who have made their earnings themselves. Absolutely. Honestly, the only reason I know any Taylor Swift songs is bc my 13 year old is a HUGE swift, and it's either adapt or die! I'm not blown away by her, but what I will say about her is that she treats everybody who works for her really well, she tries to be uber respectful to her fans, she has a great work ethic (never late to her shows and doesn't show up bombed out of her mind), and for that, I appreciate who she is. I also like Travis (despite his tantrum at Andy Reid last night) and the Kelce family... and hate the MAGA world embrace of treating her like shit, so for those reasons (and the fact that mahomes is an incredible player), I 'm happy that KC won. Purdy is incredible too and will have his day.

I see the excuses are already being issued for Travis screaming into his head coach's face and bumping into him. "He's a passionate player, he cares almost too much." Uh-huh. Someone on another board called him a 'walking red flag' and I'm like, yeah, that sounds right.

I'm just happy the last play didn't involve The Boyfriend, because then he would have potentially been MVP of the game and good gawd he would have been even more insufferable. And football folks better not let him putting his paws on Coach Reid and getting in that man's face slide. Sidenote: Mahomes is great, blah, blah, blah. Personally not ready to put him in the Brady class (I'm a Giants fan who can recognize his greatness and sleep well knowing my G-Men ruined his perfect season..18-1 FOREVER!! ahem..) Anywho, we are not expecting an Oscars appearance are we? That's all about Billie Eilish, correct? Back on tour until the album drops?

To offer an another viewpoint- I’m not entirely sure what Taylor is supposed to do. She is endlessly scrutinized and criticized, and media outlets know that mentioning her will increase clicks, so they keep doing it. I don’t put that on her. She acted no differently than any other football star girlfriend and has no control over the NFL and broadcasts focusing on her. I’m not discounting people’s opinion here, everyone has their own perception. I do think the “she only writes dis songs about her exes” is a stale narrative that is easily disproven, by simply even looking at her tour set list. Hell, she’s written entire albums now that were not about boyfriends and one of my favorite songs is one she wrote about her grandma. Dislike her music, okay, or her persona, fine, or her exposure, I guess. I’m not going to use the misogyny gotcha. But I am also not going to try to diminish her incredible accomplishments. She’s the biggest star in the world, let her be that. She is not the biggest star in the world, she is the biggest star to younger women.

So, is Taylor Swift our next president now? Forget about that endorsement, Biden! She’s not old enough! 😆

She is not the biggest star in the world, she is the biggest star to younger women. [/quote] Her fans might be primarily young women, but she is famous the world over, right now. People, love her or hate her, but know who she is. So, I would agree she is the biggest star.

She’s the biggest star in the world, let her be that. I disagree with the notion that media outlets write about her and she can't control it. Some of that attention is going to happen regardless, but a lot of it is courted, and she behaves to get it. I was at one of the Chiefs games this season that she attended, and had a seat where I could see her from the stands, at a distance. She was constantly posing. Whether the camera is on her or not, she's posing to get them on her. I've gotten to the point that I think in her mind, everything she does publicly is a performance. If she didn't do so much to seek the attention, she wouldn't be written about as much. Yes, there'd still be writing about her for clicks. But without new content, there'd be less. Now that the season is over, after they have their big TA-DA in the middle of the football field, can she and this annoying bf of hers fade into the woodwork during his off-season? He's beyond obnoxious and I'd like a break from him for awhile. I heard on the radio yesterday that he's taking meetings with agents and producers in Hollywood and wants to get his acting career started. I don't think the Kelces are going away anytime soon. Taylor has found a man as thirsty as she is!

Taylor has found a man as thirsty as she is! The New York Times ran an article last month called "The People Who Brought You Travis Kelce" that was all about his business managers and their plan to make Travis as famous as the Rock. This is a plan that has been years in the making. Of course they will say the Taylor Swift piece of it was not a part of the plan, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a suggestion he look into dating high profile women. As for Taylor not having any control over the media--all I can say is there have been periods of her life that she's been able to lay pretty low when she wants to. When she's on a world tour trying to rake in as much money as she can is not one of those times. I think she knows what she's doing.

I don't see Travis Kelce having the same career as Dwayne Johnson. Dwayne was already involved with show business via professional wrestling (which is performance, not sport) from his teenaged years, and he started in TV when he was 27. Travis probably has a couple of years left in the NFL, so he'll be 35 at least when he gets going. I predict that he might be in a few movies, but they'll mostly be laughingstocks like Space Jam or Kazaam. He better put a ring on it if he wants long-term fame, and even then, while I don't like Taylor, I also don't think she's stupid, and she'll figure out eventually if he truly loves her or if he's just using her.
Also, while personal attraction is obviously in the eye of the beholder, I don't think Travis is as good looking as The Rock. The Rock is second probably only to Arnold Schwarzenegger in terms of commercial post-athletic success, even beyond that of Jon Cena, who comes in third. I don't think it's an accident that all of those guys are also conventionally extremely good looking. Travis looks like an average guy you'd see at the gym.

Have there been many NFL (or other sports) players that made it big in Hollywood? I mean became professionally super famous for their sport and then transitioned successfully to acting/presenting rather than also being good at sport or playing in college. All I can think of are wrestlers (And Arnie etc) but not NFL players. Admittedly I'm not from the US so might be forgetting a lot of people. Vinnie Jones would be an example of a soccer player in the UK who became a fairly well respected, famous actor as well. Sports in the US also seem littered with people who were very popular for a while and then the shine wore off (like Hollywood I guess).
Taylor Swift is probably part of the plan, and he's a part of hers as well so fair is fair. That doesn't mean that they can't also like/love/whatever each other or build a life together if that's what they want (in some ways they seem suited) but they're probably both considering other things than just personal attraction - as many do. No way she didn't come up if it's true he's taking meetings with agents.
