Oh, no. Oh, Boy. Don't you remember your VH1 Behind the Music? We all saw you nodding off in the middle of a conversation because of all the drugs!
Very sad.

Sniff. I can't help it, I love Boy George, weird black makeup and all. I have my Boy George Snoopy doll (dressed in Karma Chameleon-era regalia) sitting on the rocking chair in my office. He has such a beautiful voice (George, not Snoopy).
I imagine this is going to be the final nail in the coffin for sales of his macrobiotic cookbook. "Chop the tofu into one-inch cubes and saute lightly. Rinse the chopping board and do a fat line while the rice steams..."

LOL. Stories like this are just tailor-made for FARK.
Actually, I like Boy George's voice too. Also, he completely rocked his Daily Show interview with Beth Littleford -- he realized he was being skewered and totally played along with good humor. Loved it.

Aw man. I was a bit young to be into Culture Club back in the day, but after seeing the BTM on the band and Boy George cleaning himself up, I was hoping that he had gotten his act together. He really dodged a huge bullet back in the 1980s, and yes, he has amazing pipes. I hold one to a crappy Blockbuster Video promotional CD just because it has him singing the theme from The Crying Game.

I hold one to a crappy Blockbuster Video promotional CD just because it has him singing the theme from The Crying Game. Yeah, I hoped for him. I like Culture Club (although I'm far too young to remember their heyday), and I like Boy George. Very sad to hear about him being on drugs again.

Well, I am old enough to remember their heyday, and I always liked Boy George's voice. "Church of the Poisoned Mind" is definitely an underrated song from the 80s, while "War" sucks hard (War is stupid/And people are stupid...How long did you spend on those lyrics, George?)
Even back when he was using, he would state publicly how bad he thought drugs were. I just really get the sense that he is desperate to be liked and/or loved, and he will say whatever he thinks his listener(s) wants to hear.

Umm-hmm, Ripley, and Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chameleon was also a stupid song, with stupid lyrics as well....
** In the church of the poison mind (x4) Watch me clingling to the beat I had to fight to make it mine That religion you could sink in neat Just move your feet an' you'll feel fine Who would be the fool to maybe Trick a kiss in time Who am I to say that's crazy Love will make you blind In the church of the poison mind ** But that was still an interesting album and most of the music was quite catchy and he had (has?) an interesting voice...
