The first two seasons of Drunk History are available for free on Amazon Prime for any of you who are members. The other seasons are also available for a fee.

I remember years back when Sesame Street had a little muppet they called Polly Darton. She was pretty cool too : )

Who else will be watching Dolly's new TV movie about her Coat of Many Colors on NBC tomorrow night? Trailer to it is in the link. It of course looks a lot like the typical faith-based, love conquers all way of telling a story, but I'm all for the schmaltz this time of year and being that it's a true story of Dolly's life is fine by me. One of my most favorite of her songs and it looks like it's a little pretty TV movie, so it'll be a good fit for the little ones to watch. Dolly's been doing a lot these days with Dollywood and with its 30th anniversary, they've invested $300 million in upgrades and additions, I think that Mr. Spin, Spin Kid and I will have to go check it out next year! I've always wondered what time of year is best to go, has anyone here gone that has recommendations?

It looks like a total cheesefest, but I love Dolly so I'm totally in.

The family and I just spent the week of Thanksgiving around Pigeon Forge, TN. (Thanks, little brother, for paying for a mountain top luxury cabin that I could never afford!) We had to drive past Dollywood every time we had to go down the mountain to get supplies, and my husband, siblings, and I giggled at the tackiness of that and the cheesiness of Dolly being plastered all over Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg; Mom was not amused at our antics. But there was a good-naturedness to our laughter because we all agreed how much we love Miss Dolly. My husband tried to tell us that her arms are sleeved with tattoos. Does anyone know if that is true?
True Confession Sidenote: As a Christmas Curmudgeon, I haaated that the whole area looked as if Santa and Christmas threw up all over every structure: bridges, water slides, Pilot Stations. Even Clark Griswold would have been embarrassed. But my mother warned me how it would be and to keep my Scrooge comments to myself.

I think Dolly is actually there in person in May so you may want to check dates to see if you can catch her when she's there. I haven't been in years but my BFF, her husband and their daughter have started going and they love it. They rented a place through Airbnb I think. It's great for kids. I, personally, was disappointed by the lack of extreme tackiness that I was expecting (a la Rhinestone). Schwag was also not as cheesy as I wanted it to be.

Does anyone know if that is true? She definitely has some tattoos: link to her confirming. I don't know if the sleeves are true, but I choose to believe it.

Thanks for the details and suggestions about Dollywood. I think springtime would be a nice time of year to go.
Apparently, NBC is releasing four (approx.) TV movies based on Dolly's songs, which I guess are the ones that are autobiographical or semi-autobiographical. The next one is scheduled for next year "about that hussy, Jolene" as Dolly put it when describing the next film. I didn't realize they were making such a big deal about the production of her songs, but Dolly mentioned it would be at least one release a year.

I watched it last night, and it was as about as sweet and cornball as expected. The little girl who played young Dolly was adorable, though. As was the little girl playing her sister Stella. The real Stella Parton was listed in the credits, and I think she played the lady at the general store who got caught gossiping about the Partons. She looked wee like Dolly, and their faces seemed pretty similar.
It was a little more faith-based than I would expect from someone who describes herself as spiritual rather than religious, but it was harmless as the message was all about love and kindness and faith was obviously a big thing in her family.
I still don't understand how Dolly can play guitar with nails that long.
When did Ricky Schroeder go back to being "Ricky"? I thought he moved to "Rick" to seem more mature.
