I just finished Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver and I definitely recommend it.

I'm going through some cozy mysteries right now. A friend recommended the Second Chance Cat series by Sofie Ryan - it involves a woman who owns a second-hand shop in coastal Maine and her rescue cat, plus an assortment of elderly wannabe sleuths. I'm on book 2 of the series and plan to blast my way through them, they're fun. Sofie Ryan writes the Magical Cats series as Sofie Kelly, and I've got those in my line-up, too.
I'm also reading Babel by RF Kuang. It's an alternate-history fantasy novel, and wonderful for language nerds, with infuriating bits about the nature of colonialism, racism, and the like.
Burn It Down by Maureen Ryan is on my nightstand, but I'll have to wait until I'm in a better frame of mind to tackle that one.

Leah Remini. Troublemaker. I listened to it, she’s a great narrator.
It’s all fascinating. Parts where my Scientology/Cruise and Katie recollection meshed with Leah telling (not going to spoil it). I wish it would contained more of the current stuff, but it mostly ends when she and her family get out, she gives thanks for the support from her friends and family.
But she’s unsparing with the juicy stuff while within the Clam business.

I read Consent by Jill Ciment. It was a quick read, although the themes of the book are very heavy. I was also struck about how complicated age gap relationships can be and (sadly) predatory men are so prevalent. Her candor was welcome and I was amazed at how I felt towards the end of the book. I would cautiously recommend it.
