I'm still a fan of hers.
She gets a lifetime pass from me for Romeo + Juliet even though a lot of folks thought she was miscast. I didn't think so.

I like her, but I don't think she's progressed much beyond her early acting abilities. She just doesn't seem like she has a great deal of range, but I do think she's talented. Even though I wasn't crazy about the movie I thought she was really good in "The Family Stone." And on a superficial note I loved her hair in that.

Her face used to be innocent and sweet which worked well for MSCL and Romeo + Juliet, but now is somewhere more like bitchface.

She's three shades of bland.

She seems to be aging. Normally, when people say someone is aging badly, I don't get it....but in this particular case, you can tell there's a clear difference between what she looked like a few years ago and what she looks like now. Perhaps dieting has made her features gaunt.
Edited to add: Actually, on second thought...maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. On the IMDB there are some pictures where she looks nice........but I wonder if she's had some kind of surgery. There's just something about her features that looks kind of different from when she was younger. And the difference is startling.

ds1 - She has definitely had her nose tweaked. I noticed it when I saw Shopgirl. It's definitely not the same nose she had when she was on My So Called Life.

Isn't she the one who came to Oscars dressed in a sweater set and skirt (several years ago)? Which I found a bit annoying, because it was so obviously a bid for attention. You don't need to come in a designer gown but if you dress so casually to an otherwise black-tie affair you have to know you're going to stick out and people will notice you.
I haven't seen too many of her movies, so can't really comment on her acting ability. However, as far as her looks, I think she can look attractive with the right clothes and make up, but don't think she is really that pretty.
(I did see her in The Family Stone and besides hating the movie and hating her character I was a bit surprised to see her playing a character that was bound to remind movie-goers of her real-life behavior --like it's bad enough that she did it, why does she feel it's ok to brag about it?.)

Which is a real shame, because it was a rather attractive outfit. If she had worn it to a less formal event, it would have been perfect.

I thought it was Sharon Stone that did that?

Jynni, you might be thinking of the time Sharon Stone wore a gorgeous Yellow possibly Vera Wang ball gown type skirt with a man's shirt from the gap.
