Courtney claims Frances attacked her
It's possible. It's more likely, though, that it happened the other way around, Clove was pissed off and probably screaming at Frances and asking why did Courtney have Frances. I could see Courtney being angry at Frances for existing.
As for the new Hole single, it's not good at all. It sounds like the mess that was on Courtney's solo album, and I miss Eric's guitar playing, which I think could have elevated the song a bit. It'll get airplay and bring Courtney some recognition, so her mission was accomplished on that front.

Courtney said that the rift is due to her daughter attacking her, more specifically, punching, biting and scratching her during an attack.
