Oh, that's sad news. I thought after 11 years (in Hollywood!) that they might make it. There were rumours though a while back in the Divorce Pool thread so this has probably been brewing for a while.

Doh! I was hoping the rumors weren't true. They were one of my favorite couples.

I don't know why but this one makes me so sad. I hope they get back together.

They were one of my favorite couples, too. I see that Heather has requested joint custody with herself as primary residence -- that's a decent thing to do. Makes me like her even more.
My husband ADORES her -- hmmmm.....maybe I shouldn't tell him this nugget of news.

That makes me sad! A few years ago Richie gave the commencement speech at a local university. The speech was, in essence, telling the graduates that life was great, and life was unpredictable, and to just hang on tight and go for it. He finished by saying something to the effect of 'Look at me! I get to play rock and roll, and I'm married to Heather Locklear!'
It was so genuine, seeming so very 'gee whiz, my life is great', urging the graduates to not abandon their wildest dreams, that I've always had a soft spot for those two.

Aw, I find this news really sad, too. I love him; I think he has a great personality and always seemed like a great guy who really enjoyed life. And I've always heard really good things about her, about how nice she is.
I do have to say, though, that after hearing the rumors a few months back, and then seeing their denial, that I knew it wouldn't be long before we heard they were splitting up.

Chiming in to say that this makes me sad, too. Heather and Richie always seemed so happy and content. Hopefully this doesn't get messy. I like both of them too much.

I posted this in the Celeb Divorce thread but thought I'd ask again here: Does anyone else remember Ally Sheedy claiming that Richie Sambora abused her when they were together? It disturbed me when I read it. Especially given what we now know about husband number 1, Tommy Lee. I wonder if Heather has a habit of hooking up with abusive men? Do you think Ally Sheedy is full of it or just misquoted? I read this quite awhile ago but it's always made me feel a little uneasy about Richie Sambora.

Yes, I remember those interviews. She said that Richie was the one who got her hooked on drugs, which could be a bunch of bs but she did not have kind words for him.
This is from Google, from an old article when she was out promoting a movie.
he dismissed her allegations, saying she was crazy.
