Fascinated by her. Not because of her acting, but because she has managed to stay under the radar of the whole "black actress" thing. Not only that, but she doesn't do the whole Hollywood black pack thing-she seems to hang quite a bit with mainstream hollywood, which her black hollywood peers don't seem to do. I personally think she has the best chance of being the next black actress to cross over to the mainstream-her looks and body type fit the mainstream beauty archetype in a way that say, Regina King doesn't.

I really like her too. She and Zoe seem sort of similar in body type and shunning the craziness of Hollyweird.

I just really hope that the rumors about her and Fitty on the set of his movie were false. It gives me chills to even think about it!

I used to wonder why she wasn't rising faster and I'd begun to attribute it to a lack of ambition. After all, according to imdb, her next role is yet another in a long line of throw away roles in films that nobody sees. Was she trying to find nothing but thankless girlfriend/best friend roles?

Also, while doing publicity for the 50 Cent movie, she actually had the nerve to say that she was going on vacation and had no other movies in the pipline. I thought that for a rising starlet, saying that you have no work ahead of you - even if it is true - was an absolute no-no. Aren't you expected to always give the impression that you are in demand?

Saying that you have no work lined up is something you can get away with if you are a major star or someone like Heath Ledger who's undergone a major career transformation. But a too laid back attitude for starlets, usually indicates to producers AND audiences that you don't really care about your career and are just hanging around the biz until you can snag a rich and/or famous husband. Or so I thought.

Then I saw the nude Vanity Fair photo. Somehow, that didn't strike me as the move of a woman who is content to be a black Martha Hyer the rest of her probably short career.

So instead of being turned off by a move that many saw as desperate, I actually was happy to see that there is enough fight in this woman to try and burst out of the pack one way or another.

I just hope it's not too late. She's 30 - possibly older if some wags are to be believed - and her ingenue days are about played out. And good roles are scarce for white actresses, so you can imagine how bad it is for actresses of color.

Martha Hyer! Ha! I thought no one else knew who that was! Well, Joy seems very active at parties and events and even if she is 30, she looks a lot younger. I think she still has a shot.

She's thirty!? I saw a picture of her at a party with Joseph Fiennes and Nicole Richie and thought she was in her early twenties. Damn. It's not fair, people with genes that great.

Joy looks so much like Beverly Johnson that I thought they were daughter and mother until I saw Bev's real daughter. Joy's been around for a while, I remember seeing her in catalogs from Bedford Fair, Willow Ridge and some other Christmas sweater-type company (hey, a girl's gotta start somewhere) ages ago.

Does anyone anyone know if she can act? I have only ever seen her in Honey, that said, I have no idea why she doesn't work more. She seems very unambitious re her career, yet every time I turn around, she is always at some fabulous party-I always see pics of her partying on wireimage. That said, she has a banging sense of style. I also have to say I confuse her sometimes with Zoe Saldana

Whoa, nude Vanity Fair photo?! Link please. I did a quick search and didn't find anything other than a Salon article about that issue. I'd spend more time searching if I wasn't on Mr. JDTB's laptop. I'd rather not make it that much easier for him to see boobie pics.
