Matt Dillon

I couldn’t find a thread here for my all time favorite teenage crush so I thought I would start one.

In my social circles, I have encountered many celebs. For the most part, I am not impressed except for the occasional unbelievable skin some of them have. Mr. Dillon has, to date, been the only celeb who rendered me speechless. He smiled at me and I had to walk in the other direction because I got dizzy. He is beautiful and larger than life in person.

On the flip side, I have heard many stories about his total inability to keep it in his pants.

OMG. Every time they cut to a reaction shot of him at the Academy Awards, I just kept flashing back to In & Out, when he played the doofy actor who got nominated for playing a gay soldier. AND I kept thinking of "To Serve and Protect," the fake movie his character won for, which has one of my all-time favorite exchanges, when Dillon's character is about to get kicked out of the army for being gay:

Army Colonel: Do these items belong to you? A personal letter to another soldier.
MD: Yes, sir.
Army Colonel: A postcard signed "Billy, San Francisco."
MD: Yes, sir.
Army Colonel: An autographed copy of... BEACHES!
MD: GIVE THAT BACK!

HAH! He totally sold it too. And yeah, he's still pretty easy on the eyes.

He looked hot at the Oscars. That is all.

I think it's pretty cool that he's been in the business for so long. He was awesome in the Outsiders ("You act tough like me and you don't get hurt!" Do it, Johnny! We gotta do it for Johnny.") and really funny in There's Something About Mary. He's still very easy on the eyes. I recently saw Mr. Wonderful on cable (where I think he's Annabella Sciorra's ex) and the old crush came back.

A hugely embarrassing Matt Dillon confession here.

Ten years ago, a close friend of mine whom I worked with and myself with were on our way to a company Christmas party. Alot of our co-workers did the old, "Oh, I have to stay a bit longer here and get some work done - would you girls mind bringing our Secret Santa presents to the party?" Before we knew it, we were loaded down with two big shopping bags of other peoples' gifts, trying to hail a cab in the middle of a snowing rain.

So there we are, smack in the middle of Broadway, and who strolls right past us? Matt Dillon! And at that moment, my friend and I, two grown up responsible adult women, taking care of ourselves in NYC, promptly clutched onto each other, jaws agape, watching him walk by. We then proceeded to each drop the bags of presents, hop up and down in the middle of the sidewalk, and start squealing, "EEEEEE! IT'S MATT DILLON!"

Did the object of our affection turn around and look at us like we were complete total idiots? Of course he did!

I really like him but my brother looks verrrrrrrrrry much like him, so much so that he frequently used to be mistaken for Matt Dillon when he was younger. So, I squash down my crush on Matt Dillon because the incestuous aspect of it freaks me out.

More on topic: I hope Crash heralds a comeback for him. Not that he's completely vanished or disappeared, but he deserves bigger roles than what he got for many years. I was surprised by his performance in Something about Mary because I had no idea he was so good at comedy.

I really hope he is not one of those people about whom a lot of nasty things later surface because I really like him.

Seems like a nice enough guy, but he's so very dumb. Watching him do interviews on Leno, Letterman is so very painful because of his lack of intelligence.

Well, he did date Cameron D for quite a while, so he can't be much of a mental giant.

I think he's hot and that he was terrific in Crash, but I get kind of a sleazy vibe from him (that said, if I was a smoking hot celeb, I'd probably be hitting it all the time too).

Doesn't he have a reputation for being difficult on the set? Or am I just making that up because I think he is a tool? He did date Cameron Diaz after all. And then he cheated on her. So, he's no prize. That said, he gave a great performance in Drugstore Cowboy.
