According to the IMDB, she was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, California. I've always thought she had a Chicago accent, though, and it turns out her father is from there. The blurb also said that her mother's family is Canadian.

I've spent a fair amount of time in Chicago and have family there and the accent is the same or very similar, at least to me.

She graduated from my high school. I think she was actually in my class (2004), but I never saw her there. I imagine she did independent study or something...I don't even remember her name being called at graduation. I would have thought her going to our school would have been a bigger deal.

I don't mind her, she's just there. How long was she really, really thin for? It was so short but it was freaky.

Anyway, she seems the most normal out of the teen queens but I can't really see her having a career. All her movies are lame.

Because I had nothing else to do, I saw She's the Man on Saturday and it was a nice surprise. Put it in the vault with What A Girl Wants. I don't think she'll ever be that great of a dramatic actress, but she does comedy well. Better than any of her peers. I think she's pretty down to earth (based on her MTV Diary) and I can't hate on her, even though in the past I have wanted to.

The stalker part of me wishes I cared/knew where her family lives so I could see what their house looks like. Thousand Oaks is really suburban, and houses are expensive and some are quite nice, but not especially mansion-esque. At all. Granted, it's her money, not her family's, but still...I thought maybe she'd like in Westlake/Calabasas where the houses reflect wealth a bit more.

Yeah she lives with her family (the house was shown on her Diary). It's nice, but nothing extraordinary. Just looks like a middle-upper middle class family home. I think her sister may live with the parents and the grandma too. I can't help it, I like her!

I am almost ashamed to admit that I laugh at the She's the Man trailer when she says "how you doin' baby?"

I think she attributed the weight loss during that period a year or two back to mono, which also can make the face puffy.

She bores me, more than Mandy Moore. I think I might feel stronger about her if she ever got away from the bland and boring material she seems to always be starring in. That show she's in with Kelly Taylor (er... Jennie Garth)? Not funny, though it tries so damn hard to be.

I really like her. She's cute and natural. I don't begrudge anyone their hate, but it sort of surprises me.

After hearing that interview all I know if that I still think morning radio hosts are idiots. Do they advertise for low IQs for that position?

I thought her face had become even rounder because she rode the anorexic train for a bit, and then gained some weight back. Every woman I've ever known who started putting weight back on after becoming that thin ended up with a super-puffy face. That's just personal experience though.

Is it bulimia that does that to the face? I just think of Renee Zellweger when I think of a really thin woman with a puffy face.
I think Amanda is cute, she was too thin for a bit, but now she looks normal.
