Okay, I'll jump in and defend my fellow Americans here...I think it's not that sexual ambiguity is tougher to accept. I think it's that we get tired of it really fast and don't like prolonged mystery or suspense.
Just tell us all the gritty details of your sex life, for crying out loud. Just tell us. Come on. You know you want to.
Topic: Robbie is a fox.

he has an incredible instrument *snicker* Sorry, GNC, I'm 12 years old. I remember seeing a video of his a long time ago--it caught my eye because it was so gross. He had his fleshed ripped off by a bunch of women who were on roller skates, if I remember correctly. I watched it when it came on the TV, but I never bothered to go out and look for his album. I do that for a lot of artists, so I don't think it's because I didn't "get it." I just think everyone likes a different flavor of ice-cream.

I don't think someone being closeted should be used against them, but one recent quote from Robbie is that he hopes to find the girl for him soon, "or the guy, you never know". I don't have any quotes or examples right now, but I've always had the impression that he's bi. Or at least that he's never refused the idea of being with a guy, being it sexually or in a relationship. Robbie's lack of success in America has to do with cultural differences in my opinion. For instance, R&B is much more popular in the US than in Europe. Robbie's pop music is better liked over here, as is a lot of music similar to his. It has nothing to do with Americans or Europeans getting it, or not getting it. Generalizations like that never work. I've been a fan since he was in Take That, and even though a lot of his solo stuff have bored me, he can't do much wrong in my eyes. He's one of the few stars I love almost unconditionally.

Oh, Petals. It was better than that! [Gross video summary follows] He ripped his own skin off and threw his organs at the roller-skating girls in a desperate attempt to get their attention. They didn't respond positively until he started throwing viscera at them, resulting in the great shot of a rollerbabe rubbing a liver adoringly against her face. I thought it was a fantastic metaphor for celebrity and Robbie's own burning need for it.

If you think about it, as Robbie was just starting to make a name in America, N*SYNC was hitting its stride. When Timberlake left N*SYNC and became a huge solo success, it meant the death knell for any success Robbie coveted in this country. Whether you like or hate Timberlake's music, you have to admit he's one of the reasons why Robbie isn't a success here.

Does he currently live in Los Angeles? This article seems to say just that, so if he lives in Los Angeles, I guess I understand his goal of winning over the U.S. But doing it via a duet with Shakira? Eh... it could happen.

The "Lovelight" vid has been taken off YouTube. His official site has it as an exclusive for fan club members.
I caught it last night and thought it was a bit Timberlakish at first with the falsetto, but it grew on me fast.

Americans will try anything. And I mean anything when it comes to talent. But our attention span is short because let's face it as soon as the novelty wears off there is another act poised and ready to step in. American's as a whole don't care in you recycle and idea, but for Christ on a cracker sake Mr. Williams come up w/ something remotely entertaining.

duet with Shakira? Eh... it could happen. In his dreams. What does it get Shakira? Not a damn thing to duet w/ someone whom the American public is clueless of if not indifferent to.

Robbie is a huge star in all the world except in America. Shakira is huge star in Latinamerica and kind of a small hit on some other countries but doing a duet with Robbie can help her open the door to a lot of places. Around the world he is the biggest star.
