No way. Aaliyah was a skinny little thing! Beyonce is not big, but she's no skinny little thing, that's for sure.

I wonder if she had lived if Beyonce would be as big as she is now. I wonder if Aaliyah would have eclipsed her? As I have always said, Beyonce owes her career to Aaliyah's untimely demise. Had she not been killed she would've a huge, huge star. She had the personality and a beautiful voice for both singing and acting.

She was wooden in Romeo Must Die but that was to be expected because she was a singer, not an actress. She was very pretty, I still can't believe she's dead.

I hope so. Aaliyah was way better IMO. Much more beautiful, much better personality, voice more pleasant to hear, and let's not even mention dancing. Beyonce and Ike & Tina Knowles would have been out to get her, that's for sure. Aaliyah, was thinner than Beyonce. She was lighter AND....all that hair was hers!! Oh, hell no. Bey would have been hating her these days. I doubt that the Knowles would of been out to get her. I liked Aaliyah but she had a very weak voice...pretty but weak. Vocally she was not even in the same league as Bey. As far as her being thinner...why would Bey be jealous of this? Part of her appeal is that she has a curvy, banging body. She appears to be comfortable in her skin and is not striving for the thin, anorexic look. And the hair...sorry but that was not all of Aaliyahs. She wore extensions just like 99% of all the other females in the business.

To be fair, Aaliyah never had a thin, anoxeric look. You could tell she was like that naturally. I'd kill for those abs she had.

Aaliyah and Beyonce never seemed that much alike to me as performers, they didn't really sing the same sort of songs or have the same image, so they probably wouldn't have stepped on each other's toes too much in their careers. Maybe they both would have been up for Deena in Dreamgirls or something, but that's about it. Would Janet Jackson really have been any more famous without Whitney Houston around (or vice versa)? Obviously, there are more differences between those two than Bouncy and Baby Girl, but pop culture has absorbed two hugely successful R&B stars at the same time in the past and probably could have done it again. I think it's really Ashanti and Ciara and people like that who wouldn't have gone very far with Aaliyah still around.

Hmm...I thought she was pretty much a run of the mill pop singer who danced.
The acting was an interesting step - she wasnt bad, but she wasnt great either. She just did the job.
