Maybe we've been visited by that "amusing" lady that was writing songs and saying that John was "co-writing" them with her from beyond the grave.

On the upside, Sean does seem utterly devoted to her, so she must've done something right as a mother. And she does have an excellent head for business. I wouldn't call suing Sean's record label for $10 million just as they're releasing his latest album all that maternal and/or smart of her.

“So, this is Christmas…” It’s that time of year when I reflect on what he’d be right now. What would his Twitter be like, or would it be constantly banned for popping off at the mouth? I’m watching some clips from the new “Get Back” documentary, and it made me think about him again.

I don't know much about him, but I DO know we are all better off not knowing what he would be like on twitter.

I know, I know. John was not always great to be around, but I find it’s so easy to put him in the “black hat” role and villianized to excess that is out of proportion with reality. This article from the Onion illustrates this perfectly. Just people want to find anyone, someone, to blame for the Beatles break up, it seems to be that the John gets cast as the scapegoat or a problem child of the “family”, so the other Beatles look better. I highly recommend anyone who’s interested to read The Beatles and Dysfunctional Family Roles for more elucidation.

In terms of Christmas songs, I find Paul's "Wonderful Christmastime" more tolerable than "Merry Xmas War is Over." Paul's song is cheesy, but honest. John's is belligerent and disengenuous, like he's saying, "OK, so Merry Christmas to all you warmongering MFs who are responsible for the state of the world in 1971."

Yes, the preachiness is a bit hypocritical, but releasing song like that while during the Vietnam War probably adds to the sentiment of not having war during Christmas, a time associated with peace and joy.

I can't stand John because he was a deadbeat dad.
However, I don't think Yoko was to blame for the Beatles breaking up. The four of them had been together for for a long time and disagreements were inevitable. Add in all the pressures of that level of fame, and it's amazing they didn't implode sooner.
My favourite ever Yoko performance is when she's in the bag on stage (I don't know why), she gets out of the bag and start yeowling into the microphone. There's a fiddle player near her and he's trying so hard to avoid laughing. It's hilariously funny to watch but hard to listen to.
