So this Jim Stienman fellow wrote "Holding Out for a Hero?" I've got this whole love hate relationship with that song. It's awful, but I love it. I ruined my friend's MCATS by calling her up and singing that into her voicemail and getting it stuck in her head the whole test. "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is my jam though. I've spent many a morning in the bathroom singing that song into my hairbrush microphone.
I thought Meat Loaf was mostly concentrating on acting now, his time as a singer seems pretty over now.

Let's hear it for the geezers!
I bought Bat Out of Hell when I was in high school, too, and to this day is one of my most favorite records, cliches be damned. In fact, before midnight shows of Rocky Horror Picture Show, the theater used to run a Tim Curry video for "Paradise Garage" (anyone? anyone?) and the video for Meat (with Karla DeVito) singing "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth." It was awesome.
I also liked "Objects in the Rearview Mirror ..." from Bat II. Yeah, it's a lame title, but the lyrics kinda really hit home with me for some reasons.

Whenever "Two Outta Three Ain't Bad" or "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" comes on the radio, I don't care who's watching, I start singing.

Oh, represent! I've got that song on my iPod right now. Along with a dozen other Curry songs, and Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young from Streets of Fire. To give you the full monte, I performed Rocky Horror as Janet and Columbia for some years down here in Long Beach at the end of the seventies. Somewhere out there are so many half-naked pictures of me that I couldn't ever consider running for public office.
Of course, MeatLoaf was a big part of the RHPS scene, as was Tim Curry. I wish they all would just get over themselves and all pull it together for some kind of reunion. Or is it too late? Because that picture I posted in the Ugly thread of Tim Curry kinda makes me glad those days are gone.

Those are two songs that I will humiliate the hell out of myself for by singing them at the top of my lungs. Two Outta Three Ain't Bad sums up a twelve year relationship I had and while the song used to bring me to tears, now I love it.

You must be super pretty—I always dressed as Magenta, but only in the audience. Think again about running for office, a little Time Warp might be in order these days. You are a goddess, pachouli. That video is CLASSIC. Thank you SO MUCH for the link! Tim Curry was teh SEX back then. It's kind of embarrassing to see now, but back then, on the big screen, pre-MTV, it was a thing of beauty every Friday night at 12. The song still kicks ass. You both have brightened my morning. As for Meat, did he ever do a RHPS reunion or did he completely disavow himself from it? I seem to recall there was one for the what? 20th anniversary? But I don't remember him being part of it.

I remember that he was at the 15th anniversary celebration in Hollywood, all the RHPS actors were there except Susan Sarandon. I was there, but I don't think I was sober, so it's all fuzzy.
