I just watched her performance on The View, and it wasn't very good. All of the prancing and dancing she did was pretty bad.
I'm split on the new image. IMO, there's a difference between being naturally sexy and being cute. To me, Nelly's just cute. Even though she might have always had this "sexy" side to her, it doesn't feel natural to me. The unnatural vibe I'm getting isn't because of the wholesome image that she previously had, but because she's just cute and all of the prancing in the world won't make her seem sexy to me.
Even with the bad dancing and (IMO) forced sexiness, I'm a fan of hers, so I'll probably buy her album when my cash flow increases. Until then, I'll just continue to praise the beauty that is illegal filesharing.

I think just one - Nevis?
Hee, judging from this thread, I might be mostly alone on this one, but I really am a big fan of her music. I haven't heard a great deal of her new CD (I was listening to it the other day with my friend, but it was in the background and I wasn't really paying attention) but I love, love, love everything else. (Even Folklore - nah, especially Folklore. That's a great cd, dammit.) Who cares that she's selling out, is what I say!

I used think she was alright by association (Meh.. she and Chris Martin used to date) and her Folklore album was okay, but I have no patience for her now with her new sellout style and songs. Eugh.
On another note, I have her cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" that she did for a Brit morning show (Jo Whiley) and I love that to itty, bitty pieces. Other than that, I couldn't care less for her nor her music.

Well, Nelly couldn't really be hoochified on The View. They introduced her with Fly Like a Bird, for God's sack! They didn't even bother to talk to Timbaland, who is da man as far as I'm concerned.
This album should do well, considering the amount of pimping Nelly's doing for it. She and Timbaland are everywhere! They will be on TRL today.

I've never seen her perform before the latest publicity tour. Has she always been so uncomfortable performing? Every one of her live performances I've seen for Promiscuous have sounded awful and looked worse.

So she's the singer of the new irritating phone commercial? I thought it was some random hook girl who will be forgotten about within six months!
I'm all for pop stars changing their sounds (i.e. Jewel & Liz Phair). However, she's completely made herself unrecongnizable and forgettable.

Well I'm in the minority here but I like "Promiscuous," it's great to dance to and there's nothing wrong with that. Why is it selling out when someone makes a CD that people actually want to buy? Yeah, heaven forbid making music of quality.

And exactly what defines "quality" music? Seems to me if people like it, enjoy listening then that's quality right there.
