His movies, not so much, but I loved him on SNL.

I don't care. I think he's freaking hilarious about 80% of the time. So, his letter in Variety just made me laugh a lot.

Yes, the letter is very "look at me" but I applaud him for taking a stand because I'm pretty sure Mel's gonna skate by without any repercussions for his comments.

Now Mr. Schneider is back to his old tricks, with this nutty and embarrassing full-page Variety ad about Mel Gibson which I have uploaded for your snarking pleasure! What is it with this guy? His writing is just so off that I wonder if he has mental problems?

I read your post and thought the letter was written by Roy Scheider. Not Rob Schneider. Heh. Sharks on the brain after watching a Jaws re-run this week.

I thought the letter was funny

So did I. I cracked up when I saw it and I'm not a big fan of his. Though Deuce 1 is one of my absolute favorite guilty pleasures. I watch it every single time it is on.

Oh my god, I totally need to stop smoking rocks. I was confused for a full thirty seconds thinking "Boy that guy from Jaws really hates Mel Gibson" and "Why is making a prison comedy?" <--This is your brain on three hours of sleep I suppose.

Count me as another person who loved the original Deuce. "The Animal", however was absolute shit.

I'm blanking on the name of the movie but the one where he played a criminal who switched bodies with a teen girl. I really enjoyed that movie. I thought he played a girl well.

I don't think he does. I highly doubt he thinks he is this A-list star. He doesn't take himself too seriously - but I'm sure he takes anti-semetic remarks seriously. There's nothing wrong with that, and I don't think that letter makes him a douche.

I just think he's trying to make a point. That Mel's comments aren't going to be ignored by Hollywood and his comments should be condemned.
