I love how that description could be used for at least a dozen movies.
I had no idea he was ever on SVU. I always felt bad for him because it couldn't have been easy being the ugliest guy on the Young Guns set.

Wasn't he in that movie about ghetto students learning math? I've never found him to be a hearthrob and he seems like a bit of an ass! The one with the math teacher who looked like he had a seizure while shaving? (I'm sorry, y'all, but some comic once said that about Edward James Olmos and I can't ever get that description out of my mind) That's Stand and Deliver and it was a great film.

I just had a seizure laughing. In fact, I almost bit off my tongue!
Anyway, Lou Diamond Phillips. His name always bothered me, and he always played the same character type--brooding, intense, exasperated. But I have a soft spot for La Bamba. Stand and Deliver, although I like it a lot, always makes me want to dress like an 8-Ball girl.

I loved him as Mystical Native American Quasi-Shaman in the Young Guns films. In fact, I just love the Young Guns films. What? I was in second grade, it seemed like gritty 19th century realism to me!

He was in that werewolf series right? Wolf Lake or something?
And I believe he was in a pilot for that Aquaman series that never got off the ground. They recapped it on TWoP.

I thought he was horribly miscast in La Bamba. He looked nothing like Richie Valens and was also way too old to play someone who died at 17.

Well we can add Lou Diamond/Edward James Olmos to my list of actors who I can't tell apart, or care to tell apart. Damn, I thought it was just Paxton/Pullman that got me!

EJO was the teacher, LD was one of the students.

Giving yourself the middle name, "Diamond", is almost like you're trying too hard to convince people that you're high-end, or something. I've always had the same thought about Robert DiNero. "Robert Money". Uh-huh.
Back on the subject - Lou, Casey Siemaszko and Dermot Mulroney were the only guys who showed up for the "Young Guns" commentary track. They all sounded like a bunch of has-beens who couldn't find work outside of car shows and were glaringly jealous of any "Young Gun" who did. Well, when they weren't making fun of Emilio Estevez's career, that is. Heh.
