Sean Bean is actually going to be on a show on Fox next season. FACELESS (FOX) - Sean Bean ("The Lord of the Rings") has been tapped for the lead role in the drama pilot, about a heavy-set federal prosecutor who, after being beat up and shot, loses the weight and goes undercover as a criminal in order to take down the sprawling underworld organization responsible. Said role of Eddie Pray is described in the casting notice as: "Early 30s. Eddie Pray is a hard criminal, an asshole, an animal, determined, through cunning and brutality, to rise through the L.A. crime hierarchy for his own purposes - which happen to be those of John Robson." Joe Carnahan is directing the 20th Century Fox Television/Flame Television-based hour from a script by creator Dario Scardapane. Tony Krantz, Evelyn O'Neill, Daniel Rappaport and Carnahan are the executive producers. It sounds good.

Sean Bean is actually going to be on a show on Fox next season. My heart just stopped from joy. And lust. So much lust that I'm almost light-headed with it. I think I need to go lie down to recuperate. Right after I take a very cold shower...

Neurochick, I had completely forgotten about Lady Chatterley's lover! I'm ashamed. Especially as that book was one of the ways I learnt about sex when I was a kid. I think it's time to rearrange my Netflix Queue. And to make sure there are new batteries in my.... Erm.... sorry, wrong thread.

I never really gave Sean Bean much thought (other than that he really should pronounce his name either "Shawn Bawn" or "Seen Been" because you really can't have it both ways), but I just watched North Country, and my goodness if he isn't a manly man. Mmmm...so masculine...
There really should be a drool smiley.

To me, Sean Bean is just pure hike-up-my-skirt-and-fuck-me-in-the-grass testosterone. I feel about Sharpe's Rifles the way many men feel about Bring It On.

Why does he want to do a TV show for? He's a movie star. He's finally stopped being the villian who dies in every film. Why take a step backwards into TV?

That's a good question about the TV decision. My guess is that he wants to raise his profile in the US where he is only chosen as a supporting actor, not as the lead who carries a film in his own right. Personally, I'm thrilled because I get to have a weekly dose of Sean Bean, although I'm a bit dubious about the series based on what I read above. For one thing, since when does a prosecutor go under cover? For another, Fox isn't the safest bet in terms of networks. They seem to cancel a lot of series without giving them a chance to develop. And I don't want Sean to have a cancelled TV series on his resumé.
