My sister , whos husband had Parkinsons is pissed off at that assholes( Rush L) comments. She told me today that the movements are BECAUSE of the meds, like the poster said upthread. She was almost in tears. Her husband died almost two years ago. I don't wish anything like Parkinsons on anyone. I just want a cure.
Keep fighting Michael J Fox !!!

I've always liked MJF. I grew up on a steady diet of Family Ties and Back to the Future.
I wonder if Rush and Co. chose him for their attack because he's an actor with Parkinson's, so they think they can get away with claim he's faking it. Because I don't think any of them have the balls to say that about Muhammed Ali.

MJF is also Canadian. And they hate Canadians.
It is ironic that these commentators are attacking an actor who played *the* iconic Reagan conservative of the 80s.

Maybe they see MJF's pro-stem cell stance as a "betrayal" of his Alex P. Keaton role, thus the dogpile.

If you can't count on Alex P. Keaton, who can you count on? *sniffle*

I've loved him since the '80s, especially for Back to the Future (even though there's no way a white boy is responsible for rock 'n' roll). I'm glad he's speaking out in favor of the research, and damn the heartless blowhards who'd rather living, breathing people suffer than let go an abstract (and selectively applied) worship of the zygote.
And anyway, I think Alex P. Keaton was a Goldwater Republican, so he'd totally hate on these jackholes who've hijacked the party.

Alex P. Keaton was a Reagan Republican who worshipped Richard Nixon-remember his Nixon lunchbox?

Why? Didn't Rush Limbaugh research what Parkinson's is all about? Because it's hard to research anything when you're high on oxycotton or however you spell the drug that gasbag is on. BTW, I've met MJF and he truly IS a nice person.

I don't believe Limbaugh had any reason for his remarks other than he likes to stir shit. He's no better than Fred Phelps. I'm not sure, but I don't recall him ever saying anything positive even about other conservatives. He just makes negative, insulting, ignorant comments because that's what gets attention.
And it may even be that he knows this, and his true agenda is to be a provocateur. His comments increased the amount of sympathy the average person has for MJF and for Parkinsons-afflicted people in general, and the amount of support for stem-cell research. If he'd kept his yap shut, the ad might not have gotten half as much attention. So keep blowing your hot air, Rush.
