Though I'm not a fan, I really dig when people in the entertainment industry date/marry a non-celebrity, average man/woman, so that's kind of cool.

Her second album was a hell of a lot less annoying than the first, I'll tell you that.

My real issue with her is that she embodies that "humorless goth" stereotype, at least from what I've seen, like one of the characters on the old SNL skit "Goth Talk". High school was quite a few years ago, we can move on from hating the "Britneys", some of them might be decent people too. Exactly. Her whole image had a good amount of engineering done to it to make her appeal to 14-year-olds who pretend like they don't wish they'd get invited to sit at another lunch table, yet she always insisted how real and deep she was and took shots at Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and whoever else about their images that were being worked over to increase their appeal. Pot, meet Kettle. And as pissy as she was I don't think her image was any more positive than anything Brit and Xtina were putting out there in their earlier days. I don't know if she still does this because I haven't paid any attention to her in well over a year.

I was trying to figure out who she reminded me of. That's completely it. That link to her engagement information says she's only 25. Are we supposed to believe that? I think homegirl's pretty, but she's 30 if she's a day.

[shallow]Besides, the singer from Lacuna Coil is hotter and has a nicer voice.[/shallow] Thank YOU. And thank you for knowing who Lacuna Coil is.

Her voice isn't that great live. Her fans are always going on about how her voice so pure and has so much clarity, but she has to strain to project when she sings live. And the songs are pure pop fluff, with a faux goth sheen on them. Blech.

I can hear the strain in her voice even in the recordings. It makes my throat hurt listening to her. I don't see how she can possibly sing that well live. She needs some voice-coaching or she's going to destroy her voice completely.

She puts way too much stress on her throat. It does not help vocal longevity. Plus singers who sing this way tend to have a hard time staying on pitch (which seems to be a problem from her in some of the live performances I've heard).

I saw them open for somebody a few years back after Evanescence first became popular and I was pleasantly surprised. When they opened for someone else I took my friend and tried to convince him how superior they are to Evanescence (since he was a fan) and Cristina is to Amy Lee but he didn't bite. Whatever, I tried.

Looks like Amy's wedding might actually be sooner than later. In a recent radio interview, she said that due to all the busyness and hectic schedules that they might squeeze in the wedding and knock it out of the way. Can't wait! Hope there are pictures!
