This girl is just a magnet for attention lately, from Perez:

Hayden Panettiere threatened to kill a reporter on the red carpet of the Emmys Awarsd, and she wasn’t joking!

TV Guide, a very reputable media outlet, is reporting that the Heroes actress had a nasty confrontation with a reporter from Us Weekly.

This is what went down:

It was the unbreakable Hayden Panettiere who threatened to “kill” a staffer from Us Weekly over something she wrote about her in a recent issue. (Sources have since confirmed that it was this item that had HP’s barely legal panties in a bunch.) Just when it looked like Hayden was about to pull a Sylar on said reporter’s skull, her quick-thinking publicist grabbed her and scolded, “Not on the red carpet.” It was a classic Hollywood moment — and one I predict will be streaming all over the Internet by week’s end.

I have just watched Heroes for the first time (and wound up watching the whole season) about 2 weeks ago, and the alleged relationship makes me a little ill. I know she's legal and all, but... ew. I am still thinking of her as a 16-year-old (from the show). If she was 28 and he was 40, okay, but 10 years younger feels a little squicky.

ETA: I'm just going by me as an 18-yr-old compared to the current me (28). Big difference there, as far as cyclonevkc goes.

I don't understand why age gaps have become a big deal recently. It just seems like an arbitrary taboo that has sprung up to replace the taboos we've gotten rid of. Forty years ago an interracial romance was shocking, but as far as I can tell (based on reading lots of stuff from the 60s) no one ever talked about age differences - except in cases where they suspected the older man/woman was an outright chickenhawk.

If it was a belief that older people are corrupting the unspoiled virtue of the young, I could understand it. But nowadays everyone takes for granted that your late teens and early twenties are the period when you get drunk and sleep around.

I don't see anything wrong with an 18 yr old dating a 30 yr old . When I was 16 I was dating my ( NOW ) husband who was 36 at the time .

I have no problem with the age difference because I know it makes no difference. BTW, I'm now 44 ans still happily married .

I've found that it's mainly the people who are around Hayden's age that have no problem with the age difference. I am 30 years old, the same age as Milo, and I don't know a single person in my age group who would hang around with an 18 year old. It's just creepy and we would give them so much hell for it, if they did. When I was in high school, 17 years old, a friend of mine was dating a 26 year old. I remember we all thought it was pretty cool that she was dating this man, but my mother took me aside and told me that it was not cool, and that a 26 year old guy who hangs around teenagers and goes to high school parties has major issues and probably can't find or handle someone his own age. This has stayed with me a long time. I honestly believe if Milo was really dating Hayden, then he'd be really messed up.

I've seen some posts where people cite other couples with huge age differences like Ashton/Demi, Michael Douglas/Catherine Zeta-Jones, etc. The only difference is, the younger person in each of these relationships was much older than Hayden is now. Hayden is a very young 18 year old who still has baby fat on her! It's just really gross if he was actually dating her.

Well, since it's been denied by both camps, I'd be inclined to believe them because if it ever got out that they lied, they'd be in even bigger trouble with the fans than they are now.

I, for one, am a little squicked out by the idea of those two dating. But, that said, given the way she's been pimped out since she was a child I'm guessing that she's an "old" eighteen year old. She makes a lot of money, has a full time job, and probably doesn't get to hang around her peers all that much so dating someone like Milo might not be that odd after all.

And now she's threatening to kill people on the red carpet? What, has she been hanging out with Britney?

I'm still squicked. As a 32 year old, I can't think of a single 18 year old male that I see as a sexy man. I joke about Daniel Radcliffe, and he is cute, but I can't see him as a "man" that I would really want to be with for at least another 5-10 years. I agree that's it's kinda creepy.

Well, but Britney Spears was pimped out as a child too, and she has the emotional maturity of a turnip. I'm 24 and I've got to say I wouldn't have any interest in hanging with or dating an 18 year old either. My reaction to older guys hanging around my high school (or guys out of college still hanging around college girls) was always just...Can't you find someone a little closer to your own age? That's how I feel about Milo too. If they're even dating.

I'd like to know how exactly she threatened to kill someone. He calls her a fucking bitch but doesn't really even say what happened. Was she spewing verbal threats or does pull a Sylar mean she started to get physical? Or did she just go, You wrote that article - I'm going to kill you!
