weird me out, especially the second one in the bedroom.
She's way too young for this kind of shoot. It reminds me of how they shoved Britney into that jailbait bra and panty outfit for Rolling Stone back when she was about the same age. It's just sending the wrong message all over again. Here we go again...

Ugh. I will never understand why these young actresses agree to wear nothing more than their panties and bra for these magazines. Are they trying to show the world they are all grown up now? Well, at least Hayden isn't sucking on a sucker (hey you know what's that suggesting) like Britney did for her Rolling Stone shoot. Wasn't Britney 16 when those photos were taken which meant her parents had to sign off on them? Still Hayden please wear clothes for your next photo shoot. I'm not a prude but I think 18 is a bit too young to do something so risque.

Hayden's Pics creep me out a lot less then Brit's do - because those two years do make a difference and mostly because I don't see HP being coerced into doing something she doesn't want to.
I think with someone like HP that's been around for so long these types of photoshoots are an attempt to say "I'm not that little girl anymore - I'm grown up." I'm not sure it really works. But I think that's a lot of why they do it.

If 18 is too young, then what is the right age (if you think there is one)? There seems to be a trend in the media classifying young women as immature and needing protection from their under-developed minds. Like they need to be saved from themselves. Just look at all the "poor young Britney" crap you see. Would an 18 year old guy receive the same criticism?
I think Hayden has a great body, and if she wants to be in sexy magazines, well it's her choice. I don't think an 18 year old should have to pretend to be nonsexual, just because they are expected to maintain a certain image. Nor do I think someone should feel forced to act sexy if they are not comfortable doing so. At this point, she isn't a child. She is free to make her own choices.

There seems to be a trend in the media classifying young women as immature and needing protection from their under-developed minds. There's more than a media trend at work. A poll a few years ago revealed that most Americans think that a person doesn't really become an adult until age 26! I've never really understood it, especially the average age of one's first sexual experience becomes lower and lower.

Maybe the photoshoot looks lame, regardless of age, because she doesn't look particularly sexy. If she were actually sexy, people probably wouldn't be as skeeved out. I think Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel at that age would have probably been able to pull off a photoshoot like that without it looking too weird.
I do think Hayden P is a good actress though.
They should probably avoid putting teddy bears or dolls or whatever with the sight of lingerie, though. That gives off some mixed signals. If you're going to have her pose as an adult, the what's the point of sticking children's toys in the shoot?
As for 18 year old guys you don't see many prancing around in their underwear to prove they're grown-up. Seems like they're not under the same pressure. I think I remember Justin Timberlake prancing around in undershirts at that age, but that was the extent of it, I think.
Anyway, I don't think I get the point of these photoshoots in terms of giving credibility to a person's career. Natalie Portman has never done one of these shoots and as a result people seem to think she's the greatest actress ever. I actually think Hayden is a much better actress but because she's done one of these shoots people are probably less likely to take her seriously.

I think that's the problem people are having with the pictures, isn't it? Not so much "ooh, she's too young to be looking sexy" as "sexy + childish = skeevy". If this was just a straight "sexy" photoshoot without the Lolita overtones, I don't think people would have such an issue with it.

I know I wouldn't have an issue with just a sexy shoot. But putting stuffed animals and assorted children's stuff in the shoot just makes it creepy.
