Is he a big enough comedian to get immediate national coverage? I really don't think so. Like with Mitch Hedberg, it may take a while to report if it's true. This is so sad. I'm not sure if I'm more relieved that he didn't die of an overdose or something or sad that he felt he had to take his own life because of illness.  Hopefully it's just one of those bizarre rumors that springs up out of nowhere, but I have a bad feeling it's not. I didn't think he was that funny, but he made me laugh more than most. And he seemed like a nice guy. |

Plus, even in the age of the 24-hour news cycle, age, it still seems like stories take longer on weekends. It's sad if true. He was hilarious at times, but like a lot of comedians, seemed to feel tragedy along with his comedy. |

That article..."we could speculate, but out of respect for his family, we won't." Assholes. Either say what you know or say nothing--don't make innuendo-filled comments like that.

^^I did too DenialTwist but I was living in St. Paul at the time, his hometown. Our paper was the first official news source to to report it, but it took a couple days.
I didn't know Jeni suffered from depression but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Sad news, indeed.

He did not look good in the pic w/ the AP piece. And God, he survived for a short while? How horrible.

Hopefully it's just one of those bizarre rumors that springs up out of nowhere, but I have a bad feeling it's not.
