I don't know what a fat bolo burger is, exactly, but I love that expression beyond all reason. Ha!
Mika's voice makes my ears unhappy. And his candid photos remind me of the kids in H.S. who used to play hacky-sack during lunch. The hair is a little out of control.

Well, he probably wouldn't have any woman on his arm, so the point might be moot...

I don't think he is pandering to the fat girls. Apparently he couldn't sleep one night and put the TV on and ended up watching a Victoria Wood documentary on the Butterfly Lounge, and decided to write them a song. I think that's pretty sweet.

Victoria Wood is a British comedienne, very down-to-earth, did a lot of work with Julie Walters - Acorn Antiques, for example, which is now a musical. I love her. The Butterfly Lounge is a "size acceptance" club in Costa Mesa (although when I looked at the pictures, the women didn't look THAT massive to be honest!), and they seem pretty darn chuffed at Mika's little tribute to them. I also saw a video where he explained he wrote "Lollipop" for his little sister, hoping it would influence her not to get involved with boys too soon. (I watched it on Youtube - where else?!) I dunno - I've read a lot of stuff where people say he's a Mercury wannabe, or he's over-confident, or whatever, but I like his music and his inspiration for songs. It cheers me up.

Thanks, Glitterbug. That may be the gayest thing I've ever seen in my life. And look at his cohorts--Andy Dick and Perez Hilton. When I first heard the Big Girl song, I thought it was meant for voluptuous gals like...I don't know, Salma Hayek or the chick from La Dolce Vita. And me! I had no idea it was like, a "woman of size" thing. I'm not sure that would be offensive--you'd think the gals would be happy to have a musical tribute. That ridiculous Lollipop song is one of my favorites on the album. I love when that little British kid sings.

I saw an interview he did which is posted on YouTube and, maybe it's me, but my gaydar must not be working. I'm looking for clues. Sometimes I see it, sometimes I don't.
Whatever it is, I may need some new batteries or a better sonar for it.

Caught him on Jay Leno the other night and in addition to the horrific wailing, wow, he really is an unfortunate-looking fella. So very awkward. I think the problem is he's just too tall and gawky for the pixie-esque jumping around. One needs to be petite for that sort of thing, imo. Tom Cruise could pull it off, but this horse-faced goober just comes off like Mary Katherine Gallagher. So clumsy. I kept expecting him to fall over a drum kit and then through a foam wall.
So, is he for real, or a parody act?
