Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.

Inevitable, of course, but it still sucks. Though I haven't read him in years, my high school and college years would never have been the same without his books. And, I guess, my life thereafter. RIP.

That just makes me so sad, he was one of my favorite authors.

Sad news. Until I read the MSNBC article, I had no idea he attempted suicide in the 80s. He was one of those people I never expected to die.

SO SAD!!!! I love this man. I know his daughter, Lily. She is one of the most annoying, spoiled, nasty little things ever. I was only nice to her once because I thought maybe she'd invite me over for dinner.

His books influenced me so much I wouldn't even be able to say how and in which way.
It's hard to believe that Geraldo Rivera was ever his son-in-law. Oh to have been a fly on the wall and to have heard Mr. Vonnegut's opinions on that blow-hard.

I'm afraid that I never could get into his writing...there's definitely no denying his talent but I'm just not down with his worldview. I was always more of a Ray Bradbury type.

But...anyone's death is sad, especially that of a talented man and so...all honors.

I was introduced to Vonnegut and Bradbury by my older siblings. One of the few things i can be thankful for from them.

Last year [wasn't it last year?] when he was on the Daily Show, I had tears in my eyes when he had such a hard time breathing and talking.
