Good. I hope that poor surrogate gets recouped the money she was charged for being the mother of record. Sherri should be ashamed of herself for letting this play out this long. She's completely ruined her image by fighting this. Before, she could play the dim, sassy, church woman. But now she comes off as vengeful, and conniving. She went on and on about getting a huzzzzband. But she didn't do her research, and got played. Her bad. But she agreed to bring an innocent baby into this, so I have zero sympathy for her. She is on the hook for 18 years. Deal with it. She should have cut Lamar a check, and agreed to reasonable support, a long time ago.
And it goes without saying that Lamar is a schemer, but it's not the baby's fault that Sherri is mad that she got played. Poor, baby.

She was willing to cut him a check -- and I think she was willing to give some support -- but he rejected it as not enough.
But man, yeah everyone, except the surrogate and the baby, sucks in this situation. Gross.

I realize that this is my I-want-to-adopt-all-the-shelter-cats-and-dogs mentality speaking, and I don't have anywhere the means that Sherri does (at least at the moment). But I want to adopt or foster the boy so he can get get some major love, and hugs and kisses, and raspberries on his belly. What a ridiculously sad situation.

I was under the impression that she offered Sal a divorce settlement that he balked at, but she tried to dump the baby when he was still in utero; around the surrogate's second or third trimester, if I recall. I know she was already trying to back out of the responsibility for the baby, even before he was born. I was never aware of her ever offering to take care of the baby in any shape of form. I could be wrong. It would be the rare occasion where I hope that I'm wrong.

She reportedly offered $100,000 as a divorce settlement and $3000 a month in child support. Claiming no responsibility based on having no biological ties seems to have been a way to avoid having the court order her to pay more than she was willing to pay. I'm assuming that while she was getting her salary from "The View," she risked a court order that was much closer to what Lamar was asking. Maybe that's less likely now without her "View" paycheck. ETA: I am thrilled a court has made this determination. So, whatever the final deal is, at least it is clear that the court isn't going let people get away with leaving surrogates on the hook. Paying child support is the least Sherri can do to fulfill her obligations to this child.

If that Radar article is true, then her lawyer is giving her bad advice, and she is a fool. Of course, she couldn't force Sal to take the 100K, but they should have been at the negotiation table, not letting this play at in the court of public opinion. She should have given him 500K, hell, even a million, just to make the whole thing go away. Now that she has been declared to mother, round 2 begins, and more time and money are wasted, and the child continues to be a pawn. Sal will milk this forever. Can you imagine the future tabloid tv show appearances? Each new milestone with the kid trotted out asking, "Where's my mommy, and why didn't she want me?"

You adopt him and I will be the fun aunt that takes him to Disney in the summer and comes to every single one of his school activities. I just can't get the thought out of my head of what will happen when that kid is a teenager and does an internet search on all of this.

Time for Sherri to pull a Ludacris and snatch that baby from Sal.
