Okay, so she's only one "Look at me, I'm a pretty princess" day behind Kim Kardashian. I'm sorry, but big, splashy weddings with photos and interviews sold to tabloids are tacky enough without them being one in a series featuring the same bride. *clutches pearls*Meh. Unlike Kim: neither of Jessica's weddings were not manufactured for the sole purpose of money and media. Also I hate the stigma attached to a divorced woman having THE GALL to have a large celebration for a second wedding. Jessica's first marriage happened so so young, it's not shocking that it didn't work out as they grew up. She has a family with Eric (and I think they are genuinely aiming for the long haul; they've already been together several years). Her money comes from endorsements these days, I don't fault her for making some dough by selling some wedding photos to a magazine.

This is just skeevy. I know he's her dad, but... it's just skeevy.

While I don't begrudge the big wedding for a second time around, it gets a little side-eyey when you've been living with the guy for years and have two kids with him. It reminds me of not so well off couples that have kids but don't marry because she wants a big splash wedding and they are saving for that. Dude, protect your kids, get the contract.
I also just can't imagine the time involved to put together a deal like this for a second time, when you have kids and a career and all the adult post-marriage stuff going on. Especially when you already had a big splash wedding the first time around.

I'll cut her a little slack for the reasons nemmie set forth, and because she gave a nod to the second-weddingness of it by not wearing blinding white, but I really, really hope that this is the last wedding for ol' Jess. Y'all can point and laugh at me when she goes for number 3.

Twelve bridesmaids is excessive even for a first wedding.
I'm just done with extravagant weddings, especially for celebs. Put your time and energy into preparing yourself and your relationship for a successful lasting marriage and save your money rather than planning a $2 million wedding. I don't give this marriage better odds than her one to Nick.
Sorry to be such a grouch but she is at the top of my irrational dislike of a celebrity list.

I will say, however, that I find all of the criticism (not here) of him as a gold-digger kind of gross. Like, no one would bat an eye if the genders were reversed. Jess, you go on and marry who you love, girl!

Dude, protect your kids, get the contract. In this day and age Im not even sure how having married parents really benefits the kids. Easier transfer of assets to the surviving spouse if one dies?

Even if a couple have lived together for years and have kids together, if he leaves, he gets all the assets. If they have a house full of furniture that he bought with his paycheck, while she stayed home with the kids, the furniture is his, the house is his, the car is his. The woman does not have the protection of society she would legally have is they were married...and this affects the kids.

The woman does not have the protection of society she would legally have is they were married...and this affects the kids. Having seen friends go through nasty divorces that left them with absolutely nothing, that "protection" is nothing more than an ongoing court case. And Im going to fully admit that watching divorces go down all around me has made me very cynical, so my opinion is very biased. A dear friend of mine was married to a guy making a lot of money. He clearly planned for the divorce because he hid his assets while running up debt. So on paper, it looked like there was nothing to split. Sorry to have gone so far off topic!
