I'm loving all the different non-bridesmaidy evening gowns, and the whole look of the wedding. I will say that I side-eyed the wearing of a blusher veil at the altar. To paraphrase SATC Miranda- you have two children, the jig is up!

Just looked at People while under the dryer at the salon. Gorgeous wedding! Every bridesmaid is in a different dress.

I love her wedding dress.
I'm not a stickler for "rules" at second weddings, but 12 bridesmaids is insane. At least they didn't have to wear matching dresses.

Eh. I can't hate on them throwing a massive wedding. Weddings are basically big parties. Rich celebs love to be lavish, and a wedding is a pretty damn good opportunity to throw that money around and show all the people in your life a good time.
I don't remember her last wedding much... Other than it was smallish and on a beach and everyone was fetishizing/hyper-focused her being a virgin, which was super creepy. Maybe she just wanted a total redo?

No, her first wedding was pretty big. Texas big! I remember they put out the coffee table-type book called "I Do." She wore a big frilly type dress then, although less glamorous. and she had a whole gaggle of bridesmaids then, too. Obviously, people can do what they want. That said, I was feeling a bit more charitable when I thought this was his first wedding because I hate when first-time grooms get "punished" if their wife is the second time bride.
I do think People's breathless announcements of all the details is pretty funny. But whatever: I'm going to Barnes and Noble today, grabbing an issue and a Frapuccino and having a look. Lol

Lol People is certainly getting its money's worth with this one. I frequently drive by the mega-church where Jessica and Nick were married and I remember friends who lived nearby complaining about the traffic tie-ups that weekend. There were concerns that emergency vehicles would have trouble responding to any potential problems because security was so tight and traffic was so messed up. I also remember that a friend whose wedding we attended that weekend had actually switched florists because Jessica's wedding planner had outsourced the floral arrangements to several local shops and my friend's florist had gotten so caught up in providing what Jessica wanted that he was ignoring his other clients. That said, the first wedding was a lovely, if over-the-top, event--it's this idea of subsequent weddings having to be bigger and better (including the tabloid coverage) that irks me.

Yep, here's footage of the whole Nick/Jessica shebang set to music. ETA another longer reel with Nick/Jessica interviews, a brief glimpse of the bridal tracksuit and at 4:29 the preacher telling everyone that Jessica could stand at the altar in a white dress because she'd committed her purity to God. She only had nine bridesmaids last time.

Hah. Well, she's richer now and has money to burn. Plus, this guy is the father of her children, as opposed to Nick, who is basically one of those "oopsie" marriages so many 20-somethings have. Might as well go big.
ETA: I think the beach memories I have are from her well-documented honeymoon. Yeah. Her first wedding was creepy.

Might as well go big. Oh, yes. Nick and Jessica ended up having a "starter marriage" with each other. I still like to think that the marriage would have lasted longer (and Jess would have been spared from being dogged out publicly by the Jackass crew and John Mayer) if Hollywood wasn't allowed to get in the way.

I did laugh when I saw this story on People.com about the wedding gifts they exchanged because I remembered she was the answer to a BI a few years ago about a female celeb who gave her boyfriend $20K and a list of what she wanted for Christmas. Only the guy pocketed the cash and got her nothing. Ouch. Looks like she's wised up since then, and didn't give him any cash to buy her a wedding gift, which explains why she ended up with a photo book-- hopefully not one of the free ones from Shutterfly! At least this time around I'm sure Papa Joe insisted on a pre-nup.
