What an ass, thinking he's above quarantine laws because he's a celeb. Good for Australia for putting its foot down. If the dogs get euth'd it's his own damn fault.

Dogs on a private jet and a boat full of refugees with nowhere to land. Johnny's an asshole. And Amber.

I'm glad the doggies will be okay! Well, they won't be 100% OK until they're in the care of responsible pet owners, but at least the tragic alternative has been avoided.
And yeah, the Johnny 'N Amber Show is the epitome of first world problems. I wonder how long it will take him to complain about the terrible human rights violation they suffered. Maybe he'll even compare it to rape.

Johnny Depp reminds of how having a really good publicist can either make you or break you in Hollywood. Depp was so beloved for many years and slowly but surely stupid mistakes he made started showing up in the media and boom his golden boy era came to an abrupt halt. It wasn't as dramatic as when Tom Cruise dropped Pat Kingsley in favor of his sister and his career took a nose dive, but you could definitely see the slow descent of Depp's star power. I wonder if it is too late to turn it around. When you start acting like an entitled idiot in regards to animals or children, it is usually a nail in the coffin as far as the public is concerned.

But he's always kind of been an entitled idiot, hasn't he? What about trashing hotel rooms? Is he behaving worse than before or are my blinders off?

I guess I was wondering if he had a better publicist in the past when he participated in those entitled shenanigans.

But he's always kind of been an entitled idiot, hasn't he? What about trashing hotel rooms? Is he behaving worse than before or are my blinders off? Okay, I can actually answer this one. Many years ago (mid 90's) I worked in a fine dining restaurant. One afternoon I answered a call from one of Johnny's 'people.' He was in town for a friend's wedding and they wanted to come up for dinner. Would we allow him to come in jeans? I said yes, provided they were not holey jeans and he had a collared shirt, which was our standard weeknight dress code. They came in, he looked fine and they were a pleasant and well mannered group. Toward the end of the meal he excused himself and went to the host stand so that he could take care of the check. My GM and I were in the middle of a heated debate about how to renumber the PLU's for all the wines, which we both considered a very important matter, and after calling his server up to take care of payment we went right back to our argument. We pretty much ignored him, and he was decent enough not to point out that we were both certifiably insane. According to their server he tipped very well and she had nothing bad to say about him.

I don't think he's an asshole and there haven't been any rumors as such. Rumors/evidence that he's an out of control alcoholic and, like most insanely rich people, not real sensitive to the struggles of NOT insanely rich people: Oh yeah.
What happened was he got divorced and his kids aren't little anymore, and I think he has a lot more time to be a rich alcoholic pulling insensitive rich guy moves.
