Spinderella let's do it! L.A. Road Trip!
This will probably end up just like Britney's show, with Mariah lip syncing while dancers dance and explosions explode around her. Vegas!!!

forever1267, yes! And if she's only there in May and July, I wonder if her Lambs have already lined up to get tickets? I need to look into when they'll be available because I'd hate to miss it. ETA: I tried to look into tickets and there don't seem to be any left. Every date I tried wouldn't generate a ticket unless it was a single seat (if that). So that's a HUGE disappointment for me. Grr. F-U, Lambs!

Mariah is only replacing Celine until she comes back. So far the dates are only for May and July. Oh, yes, I remember now that Celine is taking time to be with her husband Rene, who's ailing. I wouldn't mind hearing "Obsessed" (but it may be enhanced if Gucci Mane were a guest star). I heard she doesn't like to perform "I Don't Wanna Cry". ETA: Breaking - Nick Cannon was the first one to file for divorce.

I wouldn't mind hearing "We Belong Together" if Wentworth Miller were to guest star. He could just sit there. That's fine.

I saw those clips of her on Ellen. She looked amazing. Considering she didn't even bother paring down for her last album promo or last tour, I'm wondering if there was some sort of contract stipulation about her appearance? I know Celine's show is really extravagant, as are most of these Vegas residencies with big stars. Most of Mariah's tours look like high school productions, so I'm curious to see how this is staged. I hope it's more electrifying than this.

I love Mariah, but I will never understand how an artist forgets the lyrics to one of their own biggest hits.

Awhiiile back I saw an interview with Alanis Morrissette and she confessed to forgetting song lyrics onstage. I guess an easy way to cover it up is to hold up the mic and let the audience sing.I wonder if it's a thing with singers and actors, like stage actor forgetting a line that they've said hundreds of times during a performance. They just get a block like when us mere mortals walk into the kitchen and think "why did I come in here?" except they get paid millions and you just wanted a YooHoo.

Oh, boy. It's not a comeback until she sells out those Vegas shows. And so far, sales are sluggish. Just a lot of misinformation in that link, though. Mariah signed with Island Def Jam in 2002. Lyon Cohen was the president. Reid wasn't even there, he was still at Arista until 2004. Mariah had one successful album in the last 15 years, the rest (2002 Charmbracelet, 2008 EMC2, 2010 Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and 2014 The Elusive Chanteuse) all flopped. The only thing I give LA credit for is telling Mariah to go back and write more songs with Jermaine Dupri. And that's when they came up It's Like That and We Belong Together. The stars were aligned. New management in Benny Medina (he canceled some of her side projects to make her concentrate on music) a new stylist in Marvet Britto (who Mariah later fired after publicly stating designers didn't like working with her), and a good team at IDJ. Ever since the Mimi album, she's been hot to duplicate the success of WBT, get another #1 on Billboard and have the biggest selling song and what not. Her and Jermaine tried to hype of You're Mine and it failed spectacularly. Mariah needs someone to come in and rebrand her. And doing some disgusting Butterfly drink is not the answer.
