And had she lived, maybe she would have gotten herself together. But both of her parents failed her, and she clung to her boyfriend (adopted brother too?), who likely killed her. I don't think she had a single life line in her life, one together person who cared for and influenced her.

I don't think she had a single life line in her life, one together person who cared for and influenced her. This is what pissed me off about Cissy Houston, an alleged drunk in her own right. Even if she threw her hands up with Whitney because she was grown, leaving BK in the hands of two junkies is unconscionable. I've never once heard of this person Aunt Bae(?), so that's the only reason I would want to see any part of the documentary. I really want to see who was around in the crucial years when Whitney lost it, and BK was born and being raised.

But how many people figure out how to break the cycle by age 22?? Even people with far less going against them still struggle with their life path at that age. It took me until my late 20s to start getting my head together, and that was without the complications of drugs/drink/fame. Child sex abuse has terrible effects upon its victims.

My god. She was 22 years old. I don't really feel comfortable blaming her. I don't really see how it is possible to blame her for not taking advantage of whatever perceived resources she may or may not have had access to. I work with kids myself, with pretty crappy backgrounds with some silver linings. Their stories are not finished.
Maybe she could have availed herself of any advantages, but dang.

I have no doubt BK had an awful childhood. But someone has to break the cycle. She had resources that people that come out of even worse childhoods don't. I know I sound like I'm victim blaming. I feel bad for BK because her parents both really failed her. But how many people figure out how to break the cycle by age 22?? It took me until my late 20s to start getting my head together, and that was without the complications of drugs/drink/fame. Child sex abuse has terrible effects upon its victims. I didn't hear any rumors about sexual abuse in relation to Bobbi Kristina until recently. (That hurts my soul.) Anyway, Bobbi Kristina was just 18 or so when Whitney died. That had to mess her up. Heck, I was twice that age when my mom died a few years ago, and I'm still not completely over it. I can understand how lost Bobbi Kristina could have and would have felt after losing her mother, especially at such a tender and pivotal age. I also can't help but side-eye Bobby. I remember reading a rumor or two that Whitney had miscarried while she was married to Bobby. At least she and Bobby didn't bring in more children into such a dysfunctional home. ETA: I thought of Frances Bean Cobain. She reportedly kept her mother Courtney Love at a distance for much of her life. (Many of us have heard about how dysfunctional Courtney is). Even though Frances Bean seems to have her head on somewhat straight, she still has had her issues, like that her contentious divorce.

Discoprincess you are correct about the pregnancies. Unless I am mistaken she had more than one misscarrge. I recall that she mentioned that she had one during the filming of The Body Guard. Then I remember her being interviewed in her home when Bobbi K was about 4 or 5. She indicated that she was about five months pregnant at the time. That pregnancy ended as well. Please pardon any spelling errors or typos. I am on my phone at work.

Frances was lucky to have some level-headed family members in her life, most notably her mom's stepfather and her paternal grandmother.

I guess I'm the hard ass that thinks people need to take responsibility at some point. I'm not saying I have no sympathy for her, cause I do. And her parents held a share of blame, as should both Whitney and Bobby's parents for raising dysfunctional adults that couldn't properly parent (and I guess their parents too, for raising people that raised dysfunctional adults, etc etc).
I'm not heartless, but everyone has problems and I'm not willing to let BK completely off the hook for her own poor life choices.
I'm also dealing with a gradeschooler who is getting in trouble at school for hitting instead of working, then crying cause he gets punished, so personal responsibility is a hot topic right now.

Frances was lucky to have some level-headed family members in her life, most notably her mom's stepfather and her paternal grandmother. Frances isn't out of the woods yet. Now that she's divorced, she's joined at the hip with Courtney again, which is not a good sign. Somebody on another forum said they saw them up close at an event and were both "high as kites". Frances recently posted on social media a clip of herself singing a terrible acoustic song and indicated she's going to put out an album. It reminds me of BK's misguided attempt to become a singer by singing Whitney Houston songs.
