I took a yoga class this morning with Amy Adams and Sam Taylor Johnson. Sam was wearing some see-through yoga pants (I'm sure she was not aware of this). Amy was completely normal. It was a nice encounter.

I had some see through yoga pants that had a white liner/ inner layer so I wasn’t sure for awhile. 😕 I was next to a mirror once and was like yep. I had to wear them again during a laundry emergency and just tried to stay in the back. 😂

Danadel-- it's mortifying, isn't it!
Amy was in my class again today. She sat behind me, but I didn't see her until class was finished.

Double posting: Saw Kate Mara today in a coffee shop with her step-kid. At first, I thought she was a teenager because she was so freaking tiny. It was only when she passed me again that I saw it was Kate.

Saw Katt Williams on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. Had a beanie on, but his face gave him away.

Divaspawn1 called me the other day to tell me she needed me to go with her to an event at the local theater where she teaches kids' theater classes on the weekends--she'd gotten a call that there were two tickets available for a gala celebration of playwright Terrence McNally's 80th birthday, they were calling employees to fill the remaining seats, and they'd be waiting for her at the box office. Her boyfriend couldn't go, so I threw on something classier than the sweats I'd been wearing and we headed to the theater.
I had no idea what I was in for.
First of all, we ran into tons of people in the Austin theater scene, many of whom ds1 had worked with, and who were all happy to see her, so that was fun. When we were led into the theater, we were taken to seats on the third freakin' row (the guest of honor was sitting much further back in the center of the house, and I think our seats were better than his!). The show was funny and sweet, featuring several scenes from McNally's plays, and the players were a lovely mix of Austin theater veterans and well-known actors from the New York theater community (most notably Richard Thomas (The Waltons) and Michael Learned (also The Waltons); those of a certain age were looking at each other in awe that John-Boy and Mama Walton were up there on stage together!)
Christy Altomare (Broadway's Anastasia--another McNally libretto) sang "Journey to the Past" and ended the tribute with "Back to Before" from McNally's Ragtime)--she's amazing and ds1 was thoroughly awestruck, even after meeting her at the stage door last year in NYC; but the piece de resistance was Chita Freakin' Rivera coming out to tell lots of funny stories about her friendship with McNally and lead us all in singing "Happy Birthday". (She was supposed to sing something from Kiss of the Spider Woman, but she was not in good voice that night, and nobody seemed to care--we were just happy she was there).
My favorite moment, though, was McNally's "baby" brother (he's 77!) paying him tribute in a sweet, hilarious speech. The birthday boy also spoke and seems much younger than his 80 years. It was such a special, amazing night--I'm so glad ds1 was included in it, and that she included me.
