I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be among people who know who Eddie Izzard is.
He deserves to be so much more famous. I can't even rent his concerts at the biggest video store in my city. I guess I'm going to have to cave and either buy them or get Netflix.

Another alternative is to buy the CDs...in fact, you may want to get both the DVDs and CDs eventually...because some of the performances are different. We listen to the CDs on long car trips (Glorious is my favorite) and pull out the DVDs when we have guests. LOL! Are you a member of Beekeepers? I must have signed up a while ago, because that's how I got the email about his special concert (granted, I had to make the trip to NYC, but small potatoes when you can snag Eddie tix for 25 bucks apiece!). I can't tell you how smug I felt sailing by the standby line that stretched around the block hoping for no-shows!

Ooooh! I also love Eddie Izzard. I happened upon Dress to Kill oh HBO about six (ish) years ago and I was blown away by how absolutely hysterical it was. I had never heard of him before and I was immediately a huge fan. I have seen all of his shows that are available on vhs/dvd, but Dress to Kill is still my favorite. I am always pleased when he pops up in movies, but I firmly believe that he is BETTER than the film parts he tends to get (and his Tony nomination and great reviews indicate that I am right).
I also love Woody Allen. Yeah, I said it. I haven't seen all of his movies (I don't know if I will ever be able to get myself to watch The Curse of the Jade Scorpion - something about it - perhaps Helen Hunt - turns me off completely) and totally recognize that not every film he has made is even decent, but I still go see his films and watch and re-watch stuff like Manhattan and Hannah and Her Sisters all the time. I was very glad that he finally made a good movie again with Match Point.
I also like Woody Harrelson a whole lot. Maybe I just like guys named "Woody"?

I love Bruce Campbell. He has a great sense of humor, totally owns his B-movie status, and he has a cool chin!

I used to love Alan Rickman until I heard him do an interview with Terry Gross in which he was so bitchy and supercilious to her that I was absolutely mortified. Then I hated him as a person but was still capable of appreciating him as an actor. Then I saw him on Broadway in "Private Lives" and decided I loved him again.

I've always loved Michelle Pfeiffer and I'm so disappointed she virtually disappeared from the scene after hooking up with David E Kelley. I wish she were back being a public movie star - she was stunning and seemed so nice in her interviews.

I have a soft spot for Liv Tyler. She seems very gracious and down-to-earth, especially considering her, uh, offbeat upbringing.
I also like Gillian Anderson. She's always been a class act in interviews; plus, she has more talent than Duchovny.

Pfeiffer has two films (I Could Never be Your Woman, and Stardust) that should be coming out either later this year or in the next that will bring her back into the spotlight. Given her recent output, that's practically a flood of films
